On December 25, a number of fans posted on Weibo, saying that they received a refund text message from the ticketing platform before the performance, which showed that the reason for the refund was "involving the same audience to purchase tickets for the same show repeatedly on multiple ticketing platforms", and "according to the ticketing rules, this duplicate ticket purchase order must be refunded", so the order is automatically invalidated. Many of the fans said that the two (or more) tickets they purchased were for different dates during the six days of the concert in Guangzhou, and "there was no case of buying tickets for the same day at the same time".
On the 26th, many new fans posted that they had received refund text messages, and fans who had purchased tickets for many concerts were forced to refund tickets by the platform for the later performances.
According to media reports, Miss Xu, a fan, said, "I bought tickets for Eason Chan's concert in Guangzhou on December 31 on the Damai APP, and I missed two tickets on January 7 on Maoyan, I think there is no problem."
Unexpectedly, just a few days before the concert started, she received a refund message, saying that she had purchased tickets for the same show on multiple platforms and wanted to be refunded.
This is not an isolated case. Mr. Wu told reporters that there were 99 people in the group he joined in the rights protection group of Eason Chan's Guangzhou venue, all of whom were forced to refund their tickets because they bought tickets for different dates, and most of the fans still came from other cities and booked their tickets and hotels early.
According to media reports, the ticketing situation for the above-mentioned concerts is quite chaotic and complicated. Some consumers have encountered the situation of buying concert tickets on two different dates and being forced to refund one of the days, and some consumers have only bought tickets for one day but have also received a text message that they have been forced to refund, and what is even more strange is that some consumers have bought concert tickets on two different dates, but both tickets have been received. How to define "same session"

It is also reported that in response to the controversy over the definition of "the same show" in this forced refund incident, the customer service of the two ticketing platforms Damai and Maoyan both said that "the specific regulations for different performances are different". Among them, the customer service of the Damai platform said that the upcoming Guangzhou and Xiamen stations of Eason Chan's concert tour are limited to "the same performance" as "this performance in the same city", that is, the six days of performances in Guangzhou are all "the same performance".
The customer service of the Maoyan platform said that the Xiamen station of Eason Chan's concert tour has not yet limited the "same performance" to include "every performance on different dates in the same city". However, in the details of the ticket purchase pages of the two platforms, there is no relevant explanation of the specific meaning of "the same show".
A lawyer said that there were two different interpretations for the same scene in this incident, and according to the law, it should be presumed that the interpretation that is unfavorable to the business. Concert tickets purchased by consumers for different days should be understood as tickets for different performances.
