Naturally, Comrade Shi Yafu was reluctant to work for the Japanese, but he thought that if he joined Wang's puppet government, he would be able to obtain information from Wang's government, and in this way, he would also be able to provide tremendous help to our party.
Therefore, Comrade Shi Yafu submitted an application to the party organization for his own ideas, and after receiving an affirmative reply from the party organization, Comrade Shi Yafu began to prepare for joining Wang's puppet government.
Comrade Shi Yafu believes that if he directly joins Wang's puppet government, he may not be able to be reused, nor will he be able to obtain important information. In order to attract the attention of Wang's puppet government, Comrade Shi Yafu formed the "Seventh Division of the Appeasement Army" in Nantong.
Soon after, Comrade Shi Yafu successfully attracted the attention of Wang's puppet government, and Wang Jingwei sent Yan Jinan to Nantong to send an invitation to Comrade Shi Yafu, and Comrade Shi Yafu also pretended to agree and joined Wang's puppet government.
After joining Wang's puppet government, Comrade Shi Yafu was favored by Wang Jingwei with his outstanding military ability and was appointed as the commander of the puppet Seventh Division.
Since that time, Comrade Shi Yafu has continuously transmitted important information to the New Fourth Army, and thanks to the information transmitted by Comrade Shi Yafu, the New Fourth Army has won many battles on the battlefield.
While transmitting information for our party, Comrade Shi Yafu concealed his identity and continued to develop in Wang's puppet government.
Later, with his outstanding talents, Comrade Shi Yafu was appreciated by the commander of the Japanese army in Nantong, Nobuo Kobayashi, and he followed the other party, so that Comrade Shi Yafu could obtain more important information.
At a meeting of the Japanese army in November 1942, Comrade Shi Yafu learned from Nobuo Kobayashi about General Su Yu's convening of a meeting of the leaders of the New Fourth Army in Nankan, and also knew that Nobuo Kobayashi had sent troops to ambush the leaders of the New Fourth Army on their way back.
After learning of this important information, Comrade Shi Yafu was anxious in his heart, but on the surface he was still very calm, and when the meeting was over, Comrade Shi Yafu immediately put the information in a cigarette case and asked his cronies to pass on the information.
Fortunately, Comrade Shi Yafu's information was passed to General Su Yu in time, and after receiving the information, General Su Yu immediately sent people to catch up with the leaders of the New Fourth Army who had just begun to return and told everyone that the Japanese army had arranged an ambush in advance.
General Su Yu knew the importance of this meeting, so he did a good job of keeping it secret before the meeting, but even so, the information was still obtained by the Japanese army.
After receiving the information sent by Comrade Shi Yafu, General Su Yu immediately affirmed that there was a spy within our army, so General Su Yu ordered all telegrams to be stopped while sending people to chase the leaders of the New Fourth Army on the return journey.
The information sent back by Comrade Shi Yafu avoided a major loss for the New Fourth Army and helped General Su Yu successfully find out the gap between the Japanese troops hidden within our party.
After the failure of the Japanese army's operation, Nobuo Kobayashi did not suspect Comrade Shi Yafu and continued to entrust him with important tasks. Soon after, Comrade Shi Yafu led his subordinates to launch an uprising, which dealt a heavy blow to the Japanese army organization in Nantong, and then returned to the party organization and continued to work hard for the revolutionary cause.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Comrade Shi Yafu was appointed vice chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee and continued to serve the people in New China.
