Zhu Ling's case: An unsolved case
The Zhu Ling case was a thallium poisoning incident that occurred between 1994 and 1995 and involved two female students in the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University: Zhu Ling and Sun Mouyan. During her time at school, Zhu Ling developed severe thallium poisoning symptoms, leaving her paralyzed, nearly blind, and brain damaged. Sun Mouyan was suspected of being the poisoner, but the police did not prosecute her due to the lack of direct evidence.
Zhu Ling died on December 22, 2023, at the age of 50, and the real culprit is still not returned. This case has aroused widespread concern and controversy in the society, and has also become an important event in the history of China's Internet development.

Recently, Zhang Jie, the lawyer who represented Zhu Ling's case back then, has some inside information that is difficult for ordinary people to know.
On December 26, with the consent of Zhu Ling's parents, he dug out the historical materials of Zhu Ling's case and posted them on the Internet for everyone's reference, hoping that everyone would re-examine the trial of Zhu Ling's case that year through this information.
First, before Zhu Ling, there had been a case of thallium poisoning at Tsinghua University, resulting in the death of one person, and the attending doctor at that time was Zhu Ling's attending doctor, Li Shunwei. In addition, the symptoms of thallium poisoning are particularly obvious, and it is unbelievable that Union Hospital, as a top hospital in China, cannot be diagnosed
Second, in response to the undiagnosed problem, the initial explanation given by Union Medical College Hospital was that Union Medical College Hospital had consulted Tsinghua University, and Tsinghua University reported that Zhu Ling had no history of thallium exposure, so Union Medical College Hospital ruled out the possibility of Zhu Ling's thallium poisoning. Putting aside the fact that top hospitals rely on such methods to confirm symptoms, when Zhu Ling's case was opened, Union Hospital changed the reason in court - because Xiehe did not have thallium testing equipment, it could not be diagnosed.
According to the lawyer Zhang Jie, Union Medical College Hospital did tricks in the materials provided in the Zhu Ling case;
Zhang Jie also revealed that he saw in the record at the time that a pencil was written, Zhu Ling was not in a coma all the time, and she used to be able to say something. She said, "I want revenge for so-and-so for hurting me." But because of pneumonia and superbug infection, she gradually fell into a coma, and what she said in person was not accepted. Said she had intellectual problems.
Zhang Jie disclosed that the only suspect, Sun Mouyan, is from a prominent family, his grandfather is an industrial leader, his uncle is a transportation expert, his uncle was the deputy mayor of Beijing, and his father is a well-known entrepreneur.
Sun Mouyan, who has this background, was released home after only a short interrogation after the incident, and then Sun changed his name and went abroad
Since Sun Mouyan said that he was innocent, he should not have gone to Australia, doesn't this give people a kind of reverie of being a thief? Even when his mother died, he did not return to China to mourn. An ordinary person with good intentions should not make such a deviant move.
And because of the lack of evidence, Sun Wei could only be acquitted in the end, and she may also know that she could not live in China, so she ran abroad and changed her name to "Sun Shiyan".
She can "let go", how can Zhu Ling's family be relieved?
On December 23, according to a news release on Tsinghua University's Weibo, Zhu Ling, an alumnus of the school's class of 1992, passed away in Beijing on December 22, 2023.
On December 23, Zhu Ling's father, Wu Chengzhi, responded: I don't feel (justice is absent), it's normal, the hospital has tried its best to save it, and it will be buried in Beijing.
30 years have passed, and this case is still widely concerned, precisely because of the tragedy of Zhu Ling and his parents, which pierced our hearts. Zhu Ling's parents are not ordinary people, they are so difficult, how many people are still suffering silently?
We always say that justice will always come, but it will not not come, perhaps for Zhu Ling, even if justice comes, it will be too late
