In order to promote Yantai cherries, apples, Haiyang reticulated melons, Laiyang Qiuyue pears, tobacco potatoes and other special agricultural products, Yantai Post has built a live broadcast matrix of agricultural products and built a "Yantai Post Live Base", with more than 10,000 orders for online live broadcast in the cherry season, and a transaction volume (GMV) of more than 130 yuan. These unsalable sweet potatoes are rejected by merchants from the north and south because their "appearance" is not high enough, and it is difficult to digest them only by selling them at the market. Seeing that the weather is getting colder and colder in winter, once the temperature drops below 8 °C, sweet potatoes are easily damaged by cold and deteriorate, bringing unbearable losses to farmers. In response to this situation, the live broadcast team of Yantai Post communicated with Dr. Xin Guosheng, the "father of tobacco potato" of Yantai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and launched the "Tobacco Potato Dried Sweet Potato Helping Agriculture Project" based on the sweet, soft and glutinous characteristics of Tobacco Potato No. 25.
After the project was launched, Yantai Post acted quickly, mainly in Haiyang Longshan Street, the main sweet potato planting area, from Shangcun, Panshidian Town, Zuiziqian Village, Xiaoji Town, Sima Guanzhuang Village, Dongcun Street, Liangshanhou Village, Dongcun Street and other villages and towns to purchase farmers' unsalable sweet potatoes, and the efficient transportation network will transport the purchased sweet potatoes to the cooperative processing plant, and then sell them to all parts of the country through the official live broadcast room of Yantai Post.
At the beginning of December, the first batch of dried sweet potatoes was made, but the ensuing heavy snowfall also affected the transportation of agricultural products. The Yantai Post live broadcast team insisted on broadcasting for eight hours a day, taking advantage of the heat of Yantai's heavy snow, to go to the snow and insist on sowing in the snow. The hard work paid off, on a snowy night, the postal live broadcast set a single transaction volume of more than 50,000 yuan in the evening, and the live broadcast room rushed to the 6th place in the national fruit products list.
In less than a month, Yantai Post sold nearly 30,000 orders through online live broadcast, helping to solve nearly 100,000 catties of unsalable sweet potatoes, and really solved the problem of unsalable "tobacco potatoes 25" for farmers in Jiaodong.

Over the years, Yantai Post has been based on the pillar industry of Yantai's agricultural products, and has continuously explored the delivery operation mode of "fresh agricultural and sideline products from the source of origin", realized land-air combined transportation, seamless connection, and whole-link control, ensured the quality of delivery, solved the "last mile" problem of fruit farmers, and built a "green bridge" from farmers to consumers. As of now, there are 6,122 village-level convenience service sites in the city, achieving 100% coverage of administrative villages, and all sites are superimposed with the function of parcel collection and delivery, and the direct mail rate of the city's established villages has reached 100%. At the same time, we will actively promote postal cooperation and express cooperation, and open up the "last mile" of express delivery into rural areas.
Taking the "Postal Express Fresh Cherry Project" as an example, in order to better ensure the operation of the project, in addition to the independent organization of cherry air routes, the postal service can also actively improve its export capacity and increase export volume with the help of civil shipping. At the same time, the organization opened a cold chain direct line, implemented the cold chain direct line of key lines, and reserved more than 500 high-standard cold chain vehicles to ensure an average daily transportation capacity of more than 300 tons. Each cold chain vehicle is equipped with a temperature recorder to intelligently detect the cherry transportation environment throughout the process and ensure the transportation quality of cherries to the greatest extent. In 2023, Yantai Post will deliver a total of 1.18 million cherries, driving sales of agricultural products of 82.6 million yuan, and 8.47 million apples, driving sales of agricultural products of 330 million yuan.
Go deep into the field and start the outlets to purchase and help farmers through trains.
Since the beginning of winter, affected by various factors such as severe cold and heavy snowfall, there have been problems in the sales of agricultural products in some areas of Yantai. Vegetable production is very seasonal, and if the sales problem is not properly solved in time, it will damage the interests of farmers and affect their income. After learning of the relevant situation, Yantai Postal Branch gave full play to the role of the industry's "national team", "first march" and "main force", and quickly organized and carried out the activity of "Warm Winter Love to Help Farmers", and drove the postal through train to help farmers into the field.
From October to December 2023, the postal services of all districts and counties under the jurisdiction of Yantai will actively mobilize to help farmers with love and relay. Through internal canteens, spontaneous purchases by employees, and financial preferential purchases, we can help vegetable farmers solve the problem of unsalable. The development of activities such as live sales of agricultural products has not only opened up sales channels for farmers and alleviated the problem of unsalable, but also led to more than 30 jobs for the elderly in rural areas through the cooperation between Yantai Post and dried sweet potato processing factories in villages and towns in the tobacco potato agricultural assistance project. Yantai Post selected the cooperative processing plant in the village, the live broadcast room sales of dried sweet potatoes are handmade by the elderly in rural areas, with traditional techniques to dry, a large number of orders from the live broadcast room to the processing plant, for the village of the elderly to provide more employment opportunities.
