Driving in foggy weather

Safety is paramount

The editor hereby reminds me

Don't turn on your high beams when driving in foggy weather

When driving in foggy weather, turn on the front and rear anti-fog lights, tail lights, width indicator lights, and low beams to improve visibility. In foggy weather, visibility is not good, and honking your horn frequently can serve as a warning to pedestrians and other vehicles. When two vehicles meet, they should honk their horns to remind the opposite vehicle to pay attention, and turn off the anti-fog lights at the same time to avoid causing dazzle to the other party. Special attention should be paid to the fact that high beams should not be used when driving in foggy weather.

High-speed driving anti-"fog"

The "fog" is like a cloud, with good visibility from the outside and very low visibility from the inside. Fog usually occurs in the morning when the temperature difference between day and night is large and there is no wind, and sometimes it can occur in the evening. Therefore, when driving at high speed, observe that there is fog ahead, under the premise of ensuring safety, turn on the signal lights, slow down and enter, strengthen observation, pass smoothly, and do not brake urgently if there is no situation.

Control the distance between the vehicles and the slower

When visibility is extremely low due to heavy fog, it is best to drive to a safe area on the side of the road or in a parking lot and wait for the fog to clear or visibility to improve before moving on.

When visibility is less than 500 meters

Anti-glare low beams, width indicators and tail lights must be turned on, the speed must not exceed 80 km/h, and the distance between vehicles should be maintained at least 150 meters.

When visibility is less than 200 meters

Fog lights and anti-glare low beams, width indicators and tail lights must be turned on, the speed must not exceed 60 km/h, and the distance between vehicles must be kept at least 100 meters.

When visibility is less than 100 meters

Fog lights and anti-glare low beams, width indicators and tail lights must be turned on, the speed must not exceed 40 km/h, and the distance between vehicles must be maintained at least 50 meters.

Choose the right lane

Visibility is poor in foggy weather, so when driving in three lanes in one direction, choose to drive in the middle of the road. If it's a two-way lane, drive slowly in the outside lane to avoid collisions due to a vehicle parked on the right side of the road or an evacuee.

Special Tips

For example, if a traffic accident occurs on a foggy day

Please turn on the double flash

Place a warning triangle behind the vehicle

Personnel are to evacuate to a safe area and call the police

In order to avoid secondary accidents

Forward to remind those around you
