However, when there was a conflict between the government and the parishioners, such as being arrested for failing to pay food, being punished by the government for a neighborhood dispute, and so on, the missionary foreign clergymen immediately took action, broke into the government to rescue their parishioners, or strongly protested and demanded that the government change the verdict of the parishioners to not guilty.
The officials of the late Qing Dynasty verbally despised and resented foreigners, but they were afraid of foreigners to death in their hearts and did not dare to offend them at all. But this is too aggrieved, originally everyone is poor and cheap, there is no distinction between high and low, but you suddenly climbed a high branch, and in turn despised me and even bullied me. I can bear to be oppressed by the government, but it is absolutely not okay to be oppressed by you, you and foreigners are not good things.
So the Great Sword Society or similar small groups appeared, later called the Boxers, who killed the parishioners and foreign clergy. They call the priests foreign hairs, and the parishioners Ermaozi. In the end, the hatred of foreign countries escalated, and the scope of killing gradually expanded, and anyone who had foreign things in the family was among the must-kill. The so-called foreign things, such as foreign cloth, foreign oil, foreign fire, etc., all kinds of foreign things are Ermaozi and must be killed.
But if you kill like this, the government can't sit still, so it organizes the army to suppress it. The small group of Boxers was almost suppressed, and the life of the large group was not easy, and it was extremely difficult for them to develop and grow by the officials and soldiers who were chasing them everywhere.
At this time, a master appeared in the team to kill foreigners, and put forward a slogan: protect the Qing and destroy the foreign, and help the Qing to destroy the foreign. At the same time, he explained this slogan, saying that they were all patriotic people, and they resented the rudeness of foreigners and caused chaos to our Qing Dynasty, so they raised the rod with the intention of killing all foreigners to protect the Qing Dynasty for thousands of years.

As soon as the edict was issued, the most glorious moment of the Boxer Rebellion arrived. The members expanded rapidly, the people at the bottom rushed to join, and the officials in various places treated him like a guest, and invited the senior brother to the banquet to make friends with him. Not to mention the official mansion in a small place, even the princes of the capital do not dare to slack off, the senior brother can live in the palace and openly open an altar in the mansion. Those princes and ministers were also respectful to the elder brother, eager to worship him as brothers, and they were also very polite and cautious to the members of the Boxers.
Of course, the Boxers failed in the end, and many were killed by the guns of the foreigners, a lot were cut down by the government, and more escaped, but the magic weapon of "protecting the Qing and destroying the foreign" and "helping the Qing to destroy the foreign" has been passed down, and this inheritance has been passed down from generation to generation.

Therefore, everyone was enthusiastic and high-spirited, and by scolding foreigners, they also vomited the bitterness and grievances in their hearts.
Therefore, with this as a call, it is easy to gather the masses and form a huge force in an instant. When there are many people, the caller will become a master brother, and he will be on an equal footing with the prince and duke.
And "Baoqing" and "Fuqing", removing the background of the Qing Dynasty, their essence is patriotism. As long as the patriotic banner is waving, the government is embarrassed to suppress it, and it has to be taken care of. It is simply too clever to gather forces in this way.

There are many reasons for this, but the most important reason is safety. The traitors Li Linfu and Yang Guozhong in the Tang Dynasty did bad things to shake the foundation of the country, but Wang Changling and Li Bai dared to express their patriotic feelings by scolding them?
And scolding Loulan, shouting to kill Loulan, not only can express feelings, but also is very safe, no matter how you scold, it's okay.
In fact, Loulan is a small country, and it is almost impossible to pose a big threat to the Tang Dynasty. The real threat to the Tang Dynasty was the Turks in the front and the Tubo in the back, but later the Turks were integrated into the big family of the Tang Dynasty and could not be scolded, and Tubo became a relative of the Tang Dynasty again, and they could not be scolded, so they could only scold Loulan and hate Loulan.
Loulan is just a code name, which indicates external forces, and does not necessarily refer to the small country of Loulan.

As for how to pull this relationship, they also have their own tricks, such as actively participating in foreigners' gatherings, laughing at their shoulders, and trying to pay some taxes to foreigners. In short, they don't really provoke foreigners, so as not to make the mistakes of their predecessors.
As for "patriotism", they are just shouting to gather popularity and attract business. The state really needs them to dedicate themselves and their money, and they immediately shut up and pretend that they have not heard anything.
A true patriot does not pay lip service to patriotism all day long, but only pays silently, and does not hesitate to sacrifice his life when needed.
Just like the many children of parents, the treacherous person shouts "filial piety" all day long, but he doesn't get a penny, a bowl of water is not good, and he only relies on rhetoric to cheat his parents' pension. Those children who accompany their parents to old age and take care of their children who spend money at the bedside are really filial piety, but these children do not promote themselves and feel that everything they do is the duty of their children.
