Foreign media inventory PS4 is better than PS5 in five aspects: 3D Blu-ray, theme, etc

Foreign media Gamespot selected five aspects in which PS4 is still better than PS5.

Customize the theme

GS says that while each game on PS5 has its own music and has its own updates, this doesn't completely replace the themes on PS4. Custom themes allow players to upload their own wallpapers and make and want backgrounds, and there are big scythes cutting custom dynamic themes in PSN, they have their own icons, background music, dynamic backgrounds and animation effects. Although there are a lot of low-quality themes, there are also a lot of excellent works.

PSV remote playback

Just last month, Sony launched PlayStation Portal, which is basically a combination of a screen and a DualSense controller that can be linked to a PS5 for remote playback over a good WiFi network. If the player travels a lot, then it may be reasonable to purchase it. But compared to PS4 and PSV, it is still a notch lower.

In the past, for the same price as the 2023 PlayStation Portal, you could get a full-fledged gaming tool that not only played remotely, but also played your own lineup, some of which were even cross-played with PS4. It can even be used as a second screen for some games. What's more, if you're buying a model that includes cell phone service, the PS Vita doesn't necessarily rely on Wi-Fi, an idea that may seem exaggerated at the time, but now it seems to be a definite highlight of handheld consoles.

3D Blu-ray compatibility

To be fair, the home theater industry's failure to make 3D TVs a reality is no fault of Sony alone. But Sony's fault is that it gave players the most popular version, only to take it back after a generation.

Since a patch in early 2014, PS4 can play 3D Blu-ray. This was initially only available to a small subset of users who had 3D TVs. However, this changed after Sony launched PSVR, as Sony introduced a truly amazing product – the PSVR headset that can fully handle 3D Blu-ray videos. PSVR is already an underrated little device for movie fans, as the way it displays movies is basically the user's own IMAX.

Being able to play 3D movies is a game-changer, and those neglected 3D Blu-ray discs in the market have been given a new lease of life all at once. Although the release of new films has slowed down, 3D Blu-ray discs continue to appear, and "Avatar: The Way of Water" and "Hugo" are all recently released. 3D Blu-ray disc.

Sadly, users who upgrade to PS5 will lose the privilege of enjoying these titles. Despite the fact that the PSVR2 has more powerful hardware and a higher-resolution display, Sony still hasn't installed the 3D Blu-ray feature on the PS5.

Original PSVR game

Everyone understands that VR is a complex medium from a hardware standpoint, so it's understandable that PSVR 2 has problems playing the original PSVR game. After all, the platform is a complete overhaul of the original hardware from top to bottom. However, upgrading to the new PS5 headset meant ditching the entire library of the original PSVR, with very few of them getting the PS5/PSVR 2 upgrade, but that's still frustrating.

PT

Finally, but certainly not far behind in the minds of many, is PT. Even though PT is a short demo of a game that will never exist, it's a masterpiece of horror games, a dragon that many developers have been trying to chase for the past 7 years. Those who were lucky enough to still download the game are now the sole guardians of endangered gaming history. After Hideo Kojima was fired from Silent Hill's company, it was annoying enough to get his hands on the demo version of Silent Hill. But after the game was delisted, players couldn't even redownload the game from PSN, and in order to keep a copy of the game, they had to constantly play "peek-a-boo" with the company.

And the PS5 broke the hearts of many players when it first launched, and many people found out that the game has actually been banned from running on this system. This is also not a technical issue, according to some gaming media reports, the game worked fine on the review console PS5 and was not banned until the actual release date.

While no one knows if this was Sony's decision or Konami's, only one fact is clear: if you're lucky enough to have a copy of PT on an external hard drive and try to open it on PS5, the only information you'll get is a simple line of tips telling you that the game can only be played on PlayStation 4.
