This is a short film created by the young director of the "Shanhai Project" and reappeared in colleges and universities after being screened at Jinan University. The three short films screened that night aroused the emotional resonance of Shantou teachers and students.

As a characteristic university in Shantou, the hometown of overseas Chinese for a century, Shantou University is full of the strong feelings of overseas Chinese and Sangzi. The three short films screened that night were all based on the Chaoshan area, and the directors were all Chaoshan nationals, among them, Chen Jianhang was also a 2011 radio and television student at Shantou University.

Yang Zhelin's "Ocean" is a sketch of small people in the Shantou Special Economic Zone in the 90s of the 20th century, condensed in a cannery, Zhuang Canjie's "Coral She is Waiting" uses the portrait of Mazu to write a unique Chaoshan strange story, Chen Jianhang's "The River that Holds My Hand" embarks on a journey with a touch, a black-and-white photo condenses nostalgia, and recounts the memories of the times behind the family diaspora.

Zhao Bozuo, master's tutor of the Yangtze River School of Art and Design of Shantou University, and Huang Peiying and Huang Yizhong, lecturers of the Yangtze River School of Journalism and Communication of Shantou University (hereinafter referred to as the "School"), communicated with the director at the scene, and the students also enthusiastically shared their viewing experiences.
A student from Chaoshan said that the short film reached the depths of people's hearts, but he also had doubts: "How to integrate Chaoshan cultural elements such as the nursery rhyme "Hug, Hug" into the video, so as to achieve cross-cultural communication and empathy with foreign audiences?"

Zhuang Canjie said that when he was filming the Chaoshan movie "Fanke", although some viewers did not understand Chaoshan dialect, they could understand the emotions in it, "the form can be changeable, but the emotions are common." Yang Zhelin also believes that form is not the most important thing: "The story contains Chaoshan elements, and the audience can naturally feel the connotation. ”

Huang Yizhong affirmed the theme of the three short films that night to find his mother, and summarized them succinctly: "The River that Holds My Hand" failed to find his mother, "Ocean" had a bumpy process of finding his mother, but finally found it, and "Coral She is Waiting" was different from the previous two films, turning 'mother' into 'mother's love'. ”
