Mr. Fujino thinks that there is no special preferential treatment for Lu Xun? On February 9, 1998, the first Lu Xun Literature Award was announced.
Here we want to talk about the relationship between Lu Xun and Mr. Fujino.
Everyone has studied the article "Mr. Fujino" and knows Lu Xun's respect for Mr. Fujino.
So, who is Mr. Fujino?
Lu Xun studied in Japan at the age of 20, that is, in 1902.
He first entered Tokyo Hirobun Gakuin for 2 years, mainly to complete the study of Japanese in order to continue his studies in the future.
Interestingly, Lu Xun studied at the Mining Road School attached to the Jiangnan Lushi School, and the Qing government arranged for him to study in the Mining and Metallurgy Department of the Engineering Department of Tokyo Imperial University.
However, Lu Xun insisted on studying medicine.
Considering the low level of Western medicine in China at that time, and almost all the people practicing medicine were foreigners, Yang Shu, The Chinese Minister in Japan and the superintendent of international students, agreed with Lu Xun's views.
Yang Shu arranged for Lu Xun to enter the Sendai Medical College, far from the big city.
Sendai Medical College, located in the remote northeastern town of Sendai, has a population of only tens of thousands of people and an urban area of only 17 square kilometers. Compared to bustling Tokyo Osaka, Sendai is a place of exile.
Here, not to mention Chinese students, I have not even seen a few Chinese.
After receiving Lu Xun's application, Sendai Medical College was also quite happy and did not charge any tuition fees for him to study.
As some universities today invite African students at all costs, this can also be self-expendable.
At school, Lu Xun met Fujino Yankuro. Yankuro Fujino is a native of Fukui Prefecture, Japan, and is a family of medical practitioners. The Fujino family practiced medicine as early as the early Edo period, and the eldest son of the family had to become a doctor and inherit the family business.
Fujino's hometown is a conservative place, and the people attach great importance to tradition. After Fujino Yankuro was born, like his ancestors, he had to strictly study Chinese culture such as Zhuzi Riku.
Fujino Yankuro wrote a good hand of Chinese calligraphy.
Perhaps for this reason, Fujino Yankuro has a good feeling for China and Chinese culture.
As an adult, he worked as a doctor like his ancestors.
However, the times are different, and Fujino Yankuro must also enter the medical school to study.
At the age of 18, he was admitted to the Aichi Prefectural School in Nagoya (now the Faculty of Medicine, Nagoya University), and after graduation, he obtained a doctor's license and went to the Medical Faculty of Tokyo Imperial University, the strongest, for a year.
In 1902, he entered the Sendai Medical College as a lecturer, and two years later he was promoted to professor for his outstanding performance.
When Lu Xun entered the school in 1904, Fujino Yankuro was teaching the best anatomy and acting as a guarantor for students in rented houses and in charge of students' lives.
Therefore, Fujino Yankuro had a lot of contact with Lu Xun and helped him a lot, and the latter was naturally very grateful for receiving such care in a foreign country.
Although Fujino Yankuro is good in ability, he has a stubborn and rigid personality, and he adheres to the principle of doing things to the point of paranoia.
His academic qualifications are not very good either.
From ancient times to the present, Japanese people attach great importance to academic qualifications and origins.
Of the 10 professors at that time, 6 graduated from Tokyo Imperial University, 2 returned from overseas, and only Fujino Yankuro and the other 1 had a national degree and were of low status.
Therefore, Fujino's monthly salary is only 600 yuan, while other professors are generally several hundred yuan higher than him, or even double him.
However, Fujino taught very hard.
At that time, sendai Medical College did not have teaching books, but the teachers prepared their own lecture notes, and students copied them in class. Therefore, teachers must grade students' class notes to understand students' learning.
Therefore, all the courses that Lu Xun has studied need to take notes, and each professor will make corrections.
However, Fujino Yankuro's correction was the most careful, and even some of Lu Xun's erroneous uses of Japanese were corrected one by one.
Lu Xun was grateful for this, believing that this was Fujino's responsibility to him.
During this period, Lu Xun and Fujino also caused a storm.
Fujino's style is rigorous, the exam is difficult, and the grading paper is rigid.
As a result, one-third of the anatomy he teaches fail every year. The school stipulates that as long as two subjects fail or one subject score is less than 50 points, students will repeat the grade.
As a result, in the first year of Lu Xun's study, there were 20 students in the class who repeated the grade, mainly this anatomy class.
Lu Xun's first year results were ok, ranking 68th among the 142 people in the whole grade, and there was no repetition.
Interestingly, one of Lu Xun's best courses was the medical ethics class. Ethics classes have little to do with practical medicine, similar to ideological and moral classes, which shows Lu Xun's literary talent. It was by relying on this course with a high score of 83 points that Lu Xun did not repeat the grade.
And Lu Xun's worst class turned out to be Fujino Yanjiuro's anatomy class, with a score of 59.3, which failed.
Although Fujino Yanjiuro had a good personal relationship with Lu Xun and took good care of his life and study, he was also ruthless in grading and correcting the examination papers.
Before the scores were announced, the 20 repeaters were furious at Fujino.
At this time, it was found that Lu Xun had not repeated the grade, so he attacked Fujino for privately leaking the examination questions to Lu Xun and demanded strict investigation.
Naturally, later the results were announced, and Lu Xun failed this course, and the rumors disappeared.
However, Lu Xun was deeply stimulated and felt racially discriminated against.
In addition, the subsequent courses will cancel the subjects that Lu Xun is good at, such as ethics, and it is obvious that the prospects for studying are very bad.
In fact, it now seems that Lu Xun should not choose medicine. Everyone knows that medicine was probably the most difficult of all disciplines in that year, and the elimination rate was extremely high. Even among Japan's high-caliber students, very few eventually get a doctor's license. As a foreigner who had just mastered Japanese, Lu Xun did not systematically receive Western-style secondary education, and the dilemma could be imagined.
If Lu Xun chooses to study metallurgy, mining, etc., it is estimated that the problem of successful graduation is not much, and he will later become a mining master.
Lu Xun dropped out of school in the second year of his medical studies, that is, in 1906, Fujino Yanjiulang was quite sad, and the two had a good personal relationship.
Before leaving, he went to Fujino's house to resign, and Fujino gave him a photo with the words "Farewell", which he later hung on the east wall opposite the desk of his Beijing apartment, making him "suddenly and conscientiously discover and increase his courage".
Fujino Yankuro did not go very well afterwards.
Only a year later, in 1907, Sendai emerged with the Emergence of Tohoku Imperial University, a very powerful university.
By 1915, Sendai Medical College was merged into Tohoku Imperial University. As a medical college, the requirements for professors may not be so exaggerated. But Tohoku University is different, it is the top university in Japan.
The university requires that as long as there are no medical professors who have not stayed in the west, they will not be hired. At that time, sendai Medical College already had 16 professors, and in the end only 6 remained. Fujino Resigned helplessly and went to Tokyo to work as a doctor.
A few years later, his brother who inherited the family business died suddenly, and according to the family tradition, Fujino Yankuro returned to his hometown to inherit the family business and became a doctor in a small place.
Fujino is a man of integrity, seriousness, serious appearance, kindness at heart, loved by the local people, and has a good social status.
In addition to practicing medicine, Fujino trained two sons (he only had children in his 40s) to become doctors.
In the 1930s, fujino, who was nearly 60 years old, decided to retire and return to his hometown village to live idly, and also to see the surrounding villagers and become a village doctor.
This is a small rural place, Fujino is almost isolated from the outside world, and does not know what Lu Xun is famous for.
World War II soon broke out, and Fujino was extremely disapproving of the Japanese invasion of China: "China is a gentleman who taught culture to Japan, and such a war must be stopped as soon as possible." ”
His eldest son, who was drafted by the army as a military doctor, contracted a serious illness and died in January 1945.
Fujino was heartbroken, and the white-haired man sent the black-haired man.
After the death of his eldest son, Fujino, who was already 71 years old, was very sad and in poor health. On August 11, Fujino suddenly fainted and did not wake up, dying four days before the surrender of Japan.
In 1936, Fujino learned that Lu Xun had died.
In an interview with reporters, Fujino said something very interesting: At that time, I was teaching human anatomy, and although Zhou Jun took notes very carefully during class, judging from the fact that he could not fully listen to and speak Japanese when he entered school, it was probably very difficult to learn. So after I finished the lecture, I stayed behind, looked at Zhou Jun's notes, and added and changed the places where Zhou Jun had missed and made mistakes. Zhou Jun came to Japan just after the Sino-Japanese War. Although many years have passed since the Sino-Japanese War, unfortunately, there was still a custom in society at that time that japanese people scolded Chinese as "braided monks" and said bad things about Chinese. Therefore, there is also such a group of people in the Sendai Medical College who look at Zhou Jun with blank eyes and regard him as a dissident. When I was a teenager, I studied Chinese from Mr. Nosaka, who graduated from Fukui Domain, so I respected China's ancestors and felt that I should cherish the people from this country. This is probably the reason why I made Zhou Jun feel particularly kind and grateful.
Interestingly, Fujino never thought that there was any special preferential treatment for Lu Xun, he thought that he had just done what a teacher should do.
This may be ordinary greatness.
