On the evening of December 22, a tragedy occurred in a restaurant in Baibi Town, Anyang County, Henan Province: 3 of the 6 men died while eating hot pot, and the other 3 were sent to the hospital for first aid. Local town government staff said that after preliminary understanding, several people were poisoned by carbon monoxide.

"A table of 6 people, 3 people before and after the foot is gone. I drank too much to pick up people, and I became unconscious in less than a few minutes, and 3 people were pulled to first aid!" On December 23, a netizen in Anyang, Henan Province, posted multiple videos on a short video platform, saying that her husband and others died after eating hot pot at a restaurant in Anyang County.

On December 24, Mr. Wang, a villager from Dugu Village, Baibi Town, told Jimu News that at about 11 p.m. on December 22, four villagers from their village and two villagers from a nearby village were eating charcoal hot pot at a local restaurant, and three people died and three were sent to the hospital for first aid. One of them felt unwell during the meal and died after being taken home by his wife. One villager died in the restaurant and another in the hospital.
According to Mr. Wang, two of the three deceased were villagers from Dugu Village and the other was from a nearby village. The owner of the restaurant was a villager from the village, and the restaurant was closed by the police after the incident. He heard that the cause of the accident was carbon monoxide poisoning.

A number of villagers and merchants in Dugu Village, Baibi Town, confirmed to Jimu News reporters that the accident caused 3 deaths and 3 injuries.
Jimu News reporters called the restaurant where the incident occurred several times, but the phone has not been answered.
On December 24, the staff of the Baibi Town Government told the Jimu News reporter that according to preliminary understanding, several people were poisoned by carbon monoxide. A staff member of the Anyang County People's Government Office said that relevant departments were dealing with the accident.
