[Tang Linfang's contribution: 50 years ago, I was a telephone soldier and relied on listening to the sound to know people to join the party and promote Yihe life]

In 1974, I went to the ravine maintenance station as an operator, but I didn't expect to read aloud famous books every day to practice pronunciation, and to listen to people with a tape recorder to practice ear skills, and was appointed as a detachment leader after being promoted, and then transferred to the staff of the organ, 1996

The chief of staff of the main station was transferred.

Struggle to change fate, looking back on my life, I sincerely feel that this sentence is deeply true.

My family is in Huangpi County, Hubei Province, and as a young rural woman, I joined the army in December 1973 (due to well-known reasons, there was no normal conscription that year, and I was fortunate enough to enlist as a supplementary soldier). I remember that less than 100 people in our county joined the army at that time, and they were supplemented to different units.

After the recruit training in Baofeng, I was assigned to a big ravine west of Dengfeng, and when I went to the company, there was not even a single male soldier, from the company leader to the squad, including the cooking class, all were female soldiers.

I am an operator in the second class of long talks, and due to the small number of soldiers assigned to the company, the company conducts professional skills training for me in the way of old and new.

However, the observation before the training, the veteran's superb professional skills, solid basic skills, warm and meticulous service attitude made me both admired and surprised, I thought that the operator was sitting in the room, simply answering a phone, there was no technical content, seeing the real process of transferring the phone, I couldn't help but be afraid, worried that my existing cultural knowledge could not complete the task.

I am the third oldest in the family, there are two brothers above, and a sister below, the family is very difficult, I only went to junior high school for one year and the family can't afford it, although I have good grades in Xi, but I have to drop out, the teacher heard that I dropped out, and also ran to my house to do work, but I can see that our family except for the door, other rooms have no door, the family is surrounded by walls, there is a seriously ill grandfather at home, the family life is really difficult, the teacher has no choice but to leave.

After school, I did the housework with my mom. My mother, who came from a rich peasant family, had studied for a few years before, and she couldn't bear to let me get married and have children at an early age like the other girls in the village. In 1973, the army called up soldiers, including 10 female soldiers in our commune, and gave our village 2 indicators, however, the girls in the village did not want to be soldiers. My mother gave me my name, and my patriarchal father also wanted to reduce the burden and let me leave the house, so I joined the army.

Poverty leads to change, and poverty has allowed me to get out of the countryside and embark on the road of joining the army.

I don't know if I can do it, but I know that I was born in the countryside, I am not afraid of hardship, and I do not admit defeat. I secretly made up my mind that the army would give me a monthly allowance of 6.75 yuan, which was enough to be worthy of me, and I would follow the cadres and squad leaders to learn Xi professional knowledge, which was responsible for military training.

However, it is easier said than done.

To be a qualified telephone soldier, you must first read more than 10 professional textbooks and accurately memorize more than 2,000 military line phone numbers, otherwise you will not be able to get on the machine. I repeatedly copied phone numbers on paper, and with the help of the class leader, I created associative memory and story memory, and compiled the numbers into formulas or stories that I could remember to remember.

However, memorizing the phone number is only the first step in a professional class, and more important knowledge and skills follow. As long as the user "feeds" in the microphone, it is necessary to hear who the other party is within 3 seconds, especially the chief and the main user, and the high-level operator can also hear the other party's mood and mood from the other party's simple "feed".

However, the users on the other end of the line are very different, coming from different places and inevitably speaking different dialects. How to accurately understand the user's intention to make a call from different dialects requires the operator to have a high dialect discrimination ability.

At that time, in order to master this skill, we borrowed a tape recorder, first recorded the dialects of soldiers in different places in the company and battalion, and often spoke with the soldiers in these places, compared the speaking characteristics of each local dialect, and mastered the scale and speed of sound, tone, intonation, grammar, etc. of the dialect as much as possible, and listened to and memorized it repeatedly.

At that time, I had no concept of day and night, repeatedly memorizing thousands of phone numbers and user information, even using the time between going to the toilet and before and after eating, talking about numbers in my mouth all day long, people were nervous, and slowly built the "strongest brain" that can be used and taken at any time. ”

However, in the years and months of studying Xi in professional courses, we also spent a lot of time and energy on practicing the oral skills of Xi operators, finding famous books, reading aloud an article in it with emotion, and practicing Xi our own pronunciation Xi.

In the boring and long process of learning and Xi, I am like a sponge, absorbing the power of growth.

However, the most difficult practice is easy to say and difficult to do, and more importantly, the wiring plug must be turned on in 1 second, the light in 2 seconds, the answer in 3 seconds and the transfer can be completed, and no mistakes can be made.

I thought I had almost learned Xi, but the first time I was on duty on the plane made my head and nose sweat. That day, we entered the tunnel, sat in front of the switch and put on the headphones, our heads were a little dazed, the headphones were very much like a golden hoop spell, and after a long time, the ears were pressed by the phone very uncomfortable, and we rubbed them twice from time to time.

However, the more embarrassing thing is still to come, my hands are clumsy when wiring, a little nervous, the plug was crackled, and what is worse is that the phone number that I originally remembered very clearly in my head ran away without a trace at this time, and the sweat on my head dripped down my forehead and eyebrows onto the operating table.

The most memorable thing is that just a few days after I got on duty, I received a call from a user asking for the military affairs section of another unit, and the operator on the other side was also a call soldier, but it was obviously a veteran, and the veteran knew that I was a new recruit who had just gotten on the plane, so he deliberately embarrassed me and found my fault.

I enlisted in the army in 1974, and I was honorably promoted to work 100 times without mistakes on the long talk line every day, and the chief of staff was transferred to another job

The user on my side wants the organization department of the other party. But the veteran operator on the other side deliberately received the quartermaster section, but I already knew that the veteran was wrong, but I didn't dare to tell him directly, so I had to say word by word again, please take over the organization department, the veteran felt that I was a recruit who did not give him face, raised his voice and reprimanded me, and said that I should go down and change the veteran to be on duty, I didn't get off, and I insisted on connecting the task, but my eyes kept choking with tears

Sweat and tempering allow me to exercise and grow in the wind and rain.

In this way, in the process of studying and Xi again and again, my call business ability improved rapidly, ranking among the first and second year soldiers, and in the spring of 1975, I won the second best overall score in the call competition of the main station.

In September 1975, I was appointed as the deputy squad leader, and at the end of the year, I was transferred to another squad as the squad leader.

In September 1976, he was recommended by the main station to participate in the military region headquarters to participate in the military region headquarters to advance the cadre training Xi, in December was appointed as the captain of the detachment, receiving a monthly salary of 52 yuan, which was six times the allowance of my soldiers at that time, and in 1980, he was transferred to the military region signal regiment as a training staff officer.

I remember that many years later, when I participated in a military exercise with the Wuhan Military Region, Xi I was transferring a phone call from the tank division, a familiar voice appeared in the earpiece. I had already left the telephone detachment, and the communications service was also automatic, and I was not very sure that this voice belonged to the Operations Section of the Headquarters, so I just wanted to make my judgment clear, so I asked the other party softly: Are you Staff Officer Li of the Operations Section? The other party was stunned for a moment and immediately replied: Yes, you are from 03, right? When the other party said this, I was extremely excited in my heart: Only people who have been dealing with sound for a long time can have keen hearing.

I enlisted in the army in 1974, and I was honorably promoted to work 100 times without mistakes on the long talk line every day, and the chief of staff was transferred to another job

In 1985, due to the need to take care of the children, I was transferred back to the main station organ, and successively served as a staff officer and head of the training unit, deputy chief of staff and battalion commander of the headquarters, and in 1992 as chief of staff, in 1996 I transferred to a local job, and retired in 2015.

Looking back on my own growth, I deeply feel that veterans are the soul of the melting pot of the army, they play the role of connecting the upper and lower levels, imparting professional knowledge and skills, and copying and pasting the feelings of family and country and loyalty to the motherland into us little by little, and imperceptibly into our souls.

Now I am old, but the footprints of struggle in the depths of the years, the warm past are enough to warm my life!
