On December 22, the "People Call Me to Respond to Collaborative Good Governance - 2023 Urban Governance High-quality Development Seminar and Conference" was held in Guangzhou. In May this year, the "Neighborhood Praise List", an important product of the Nandu High-quality Development Research Institute, with the theme of "People's Livelihood Practical Facts Guangdong Sample", collected practical cases of people's livelihood that have benefited the people's livelihood, warmed the hearts of the people, and conformed to the people's will since 2022 from all levels and departments in the province. After the launch of the activity, more than 200 cases of people's livelihood practical matters were collected.
After multiple rounds of selection such as in-depth research, online likes, and expert review, the 20 excellent cases cover digital governance, barrier-free travel, micro-renovation of old communities, river and lake governance, helping farmers increase income, and Bay Area integration, fully demonstrating the practical measures and work effectiveness of various regions, departments and units to promote high-quality development and improve people's quality of life.
Today's seminar on the high-quality development of urban governance is particularly special, as it focuses on the research results of the Nandu High-quality Development Research Institute since its establishment. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed that high-quality development is the primary task of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way, and Southern Metropolis Daily officially established the Nandu High-quality Development Research Institute in February this year in response to the call of the times, as an important platform to promote the deep integration of media and the transformation and development of intelligent media. In the past year since its establishment, we have listed 4 branches and 3 industrial research bases or research centers, continuously expanding the breadth and depth of research and integrating into regional development and governance.
The Neighborhood Praise List is a think tank list launched by Southern Metropolis Daily, which was first released in 2017 and has been held for the sixth time. The list focuses on a different theme every year, collects practical cases of people's livelihood from all walks of life, and introduces expert research and citizen praise to select the final outstanding cases. The event was set up by the media to select innovative practices and practical cases of people's livelihood that the public really applauded, which reflected the efforts of relevant units to improve public services and promote the high-quality development of Guangdong. Through this platform, citizens express their voices, the government is aware of their demands, and experts make suggestions, forming a good interaction. This is also the original intention and mission of "building a pluralistic co-governance platform and integrating into the development of regional governance" adhered to by the transformation of Nandu Think Tank.
