Wu Dasha "Bird of the Storm - A Complete History of the German Me 262 Fighter in World War II"
Hello students ~ Wuhan University Press's official micro-store has been listed on the shelves of the fat goose friend Meng Chuangbo's masterpiece "Bird of the Storm - World War II German Me 262 Fighter Full History", here to all kite parties to recommend ~ ~ ~

The book's origins go back to 2010. At that time, after Mr. Meng completed three full histories of the P-38, P-47, and P-51 of the US fighter jet, he found by chance that there were several authoritative publications abroad that deviated more or less from the Me 262 model. Driven by curiosity, I started this manuscript and worked intermittently with the Luftwaffe's most legendary doomsday fighter for a decade
At the beginning, he did not have a clear time point for the completion of the manuscript, but only excavated the historical materials in a way that challenged the limits. Here, first of all, I would like to thank the seniors Jerry (Li Yun), ding Lei, Lu Le, Jin Ziyu, Liu Meng, Bone Dragon, Kaka Pig, Riko106, Lempicka, and Egg Cake students who have helped Mr. Meng collect information over the years.
Secondly, in the case of this Me 262, Fat Goose can be said to be unceremonious that this monograph brings together the power of a large number of columbaria kite party/air force writers and translators:
Takashi Takashi (The Eagle Falcon: A History of the German Bf 109 Fighter in World War II, The Butcher's Bird: A History of the Luftw 190 Fighter in World War II, and the Full History of the MiG Series fighters) supports the history of german reich air defense warfare,
Ding Lei ("Clear Sky Thunder: Documentary of the RAF Strategic Bombing Operations against Germany in World War II", "Heavenly Fire: A Complete History of the US Strategic Bombing of Japan 1942-1945") supports the history of the Western Front and the proofreading of the manuscript,
Summer Nights (Aeolian Stars: The Biography of Hans Joachim Marceu, Western Front Air Warfare: A History of the Luftwaffe 26th Fighter Wing in World War II) supports the luftwaffe's war history and proofreading of manuscripts,
Zhang Tianjun ("Reich: German Daytime Air Defense in World War II", "Bottom plate operation: The Last Counterattack of the Luftwaffe in World War II") supports the history of the Luftwaffe and the proofreading of manuscripts,
Yang Jianchao ("Hellcat": A Complete History of the U.S. Navy's F6F Fighter in World War II)' technical support and manuscript proofreading,
Gu Jian ("Legend of the Black Death in the Air - Ilyusin IL-2 Strike Aircraft", "The Last Air Battle Sword Points to Berlin") supports the history of the Eastern Front,
Sun Xiaoxiang (Hope and Destruction: The Last Year of the Third Reich Air Force) technical support for the Me 262,
Lu Le (Screaming Death: The Complete Biography of Hans Ulrich Rudder) supports the history of the Luftwaffe,
Xiong Jie (Red Hawk Squadron: American Secret MiG Fleet, Top Gun) supports the rafamily war history,
Liu Meng (Modern Air Force: A Classic Aircraft Identification Guide, Suez Canal War) supports the luftwaffe's war history,
Hou Ge (senior author of Aviation Knowledge) supports engine technology,
Special thanks to Zhang Xiangming ("Kiev 1941: The Greatest Siege in History") for its support in the history of the Russian language, which restores an extremely rare period of history on the Eastern Front
……
It can be said that without everyone's help and supervision, this manuscript really does not know that it will be delayed until the Year of the Monkey and the Month of The Horse to be completed...
Thank you!
In 2018, with the encouragement of Wuhan University Press, Mr. Meng began to gradually sort out the long-accumulated manuscripts, and finally completed the first draft with a total of 700,000 words last year.
Before his three US military fighter books, each with a length of about 200,000 words, and this Me 262 only has 590,000 words in the war history section, which is equivalent to the sum of the past three books, which can be seen that the dry goods are full.
In order to cut costs, Mr. Meng managed to select 570 pictures, and then negotiated with Wuhan University Press to adopt a more space-saving double-column layout, and finally compressed the length of 700,000 words to 690 pages, so that the students' wallets were less burdened :)
Overall, the process of forming the entire manuscript has always revolved around three core themes:
- What is the technical level of me 262?
What happened during mass production of the Me 262?
——How does the Me 262 perform in combat?
These three points have attracted the attention of military fans, and in the decades after the end of World War II, there have been many plausible fallacies for various reasons, and contradictions and conflicts abound in the original records, personal memories and official histories. Therefore, a large number of screening and verification is the most important share of the entire book manuscript work, and it has been done more than once in order to check several data and smash four figures of silver to buy information. However, in the past 10 years, two famous Me 262 pilots, Walter Schuck and Erich Rudorffer, have died, and the text and video materials they left behind are too scarce for Mr. Meng to answer. All along, Mr. Meng has deeply felt that perhaps, 100% of the historical truth, we can no longer completely restore, but he only hopes that this book can help everyone to move forward on the road of pursuing the truth.
Me 262 is a very famous "world-class masterpiece machine", many students in various military forums have bought a variety of original books early, and have already studied the experience. There are opinions and suggestions, and the first reaction of the students may be to reply to the post, in fact, this way is not efficient for him and everyone. He can now be found at any time with the most popular IM software, WeChat. There is a public account "Me262 Chinese station" has been registered, its WeChat signal is "Me262Jet", everyone has any questions, to the public number message can be, Mr. Meng will regularly go online to answer. For representative questions, or the detailed examination process listed in the book due to space limitations, he will be published on the public account at that time.
Previously, when the three books P-38, P-47, and P-51 were released, Mr. Meng would post a video on the forum as an additional gift to everyone. But now the times are different, the mobile Internet is about to completely change the reading habits of military fans, let this public account as a gift for this "Storm Bird - World War II German Me 262 Fighter Full History".
Happy reading!
