According to the latest statistics from Fortune magazine, the total number of Foxconn employees in mainland China is 767,000, and at its peak, the number of Foxconn employees in China exceeded 1.2 million.
With nearly one million jobs per year, Foxconn's importance is self-evident, and it is definitely one of the core fundamentals of the mainland. And if Foxconn moves away overnight, the consequences will be very serious, the domestic job market will add millions of unemployed, and the market that has been seriously involuted will be even more involuted.
What worries us is that Foxconn's evacuation seems to be accelerating since the beginning of this year. However, since the investigation storm some time ago, the speed of Foxconn's withdrawal seems to be accelerating. At the end of November, Foxconn announced an additional 10 billion in India to build more factories, and then in December, Foxconn announced that it would invest 12 billion in India.
The outside world generally believes that this is Guo Taiming's retaliation! The previous investigation turmoil once made Foxconn very passive, and although it ended with Foxconn being fined 20,000 yuan, this investigation should have made Guo Taiming feel dissatisfied, so he decided to speed up the factory evacuation plan.
In all fairness, we can't control the high-level affairs, and we can't manage them. However, for the general public, especially for many ordinary families who rely on Foxconn for food, Foxconn's decision will indeed make them very uncomfortable. First of all, Foxconn's production capacity is fixed, if the Indian side is more divided, then the domestic orders will be less, the demand for workers will be reduced, the corresponding job competition will be more fierce, and the difficulty of making money will be higher.
Secondly, now Foxconn's posture should be to move most of the production capacity, if Foxconn finally achieves this purpose, there will be the scene I mentioned above, and the domestic job market will add nearly one million unemployed. What's more troublesome is that the current environment, everyone can also see, there are a lot fewer employment opportunities, if Foxconn's labor demand also declines, it will affect millions of families, tens of millions of people.
Judging from the current situation, Foxconn's plan to accelerate the withdrawal should have become a foregone conclusion, which is the inevitable result of many factors, and it is basically impossible to change.
And for ordinary people, especially friends who rely on factories like Foxconn to eat, I would like to say that the next step should indeed be made in advance, and in addition to work, it is best to spend time to improve yourself and learn more skills.
