I had the privilege of visiting Du Fu's Thatched Cottage on a weekend to see the former home of this literary giant.
Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of the great poet Du Fu of the Tang Dynasty in China, located at No. 37, Qinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Du Fu lived here for nearly four years and wrote more than 240 poems. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the poet Wei Zhuang found the ruins of the thatched cottage and rebuilt the thatched hut to preserve it, and the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties repaired and expanded.
Walking into Du Fu's thatched cottage, the first thing that catches your eye is a simple and elegant wooden structure building, which is where Du Fu lived back then. The interior of the thatched cottage is simply furnished, but it is full of strong cultural atmosphere.
