First, the Tianshuixing camp at the east hall gate was bombed
At the beginning of June 1936, when the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression entered, an air defense exhibition was held at Xi'an High School. This matter of life and death caused visitors to squeeze the area around the east hall door, and the impact was enormous. The exhibition is divided into five exhibition rooms. The first exhibition room displays balloons, airboats, bombs, etc. It turned out that the balloon was released into the air for air defense, and it was the most basic method, and putting the balloon at a high altitude could effectively prevent the enemy plane from flying, and it could also be tied to a wire on the balloon and electrified, and the enemy plane would definitely explode and destroy the enemy plane. The air defense method of releasing balloons was used in Xi'an to prepare for Japanese air raids. Bombs are pictures that introduce the destructive power of bombs, the tragic situation after bombing, let the people pay attention, improve vigilance, and introduce how to prevent and avoid. There are also bomb types, such as heavy bombs, incendiary bombs, poison gas bombs and so on. Other exhibition rooms include air defense information signs, signal guns for air defense equipment, telescopes, alarms and signal lights, and then introduce the performance and special uses of various aircraft, distinguishing between Japanese bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. Night lights control, how to quickly listen to the alarm, listen to the command to hide in the air raid shelter, shelter. Finally, there are the common sense of gas rescue, the introduction of gas masks, and simple methods such as covering the nose and mouth with a wet towel.

Xi'an High School gate in the 1930s
In 1938, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Xi'an High School moved to Nanyang County, Shaanxi Province, to avoid Japanese bombing. The campus of Xi'an Senior High School at the east hall gate of Xi'an has become the site of Tianshui Xingying. The full name of the Tianshui Camp was "Tianshui Xingying, Chairman of the Military Commission of the National Government", and the two major camps in the country at that time, the Tianshui Xingying Camp in the north and the Guilin Xingying Camp in the south, unified supervision and supervision of the operations in the northern and southern battlefields. Tianshui Xingying has jurisdiction over 13 provinces and regions, including Ji, Cha, Yu, Lu, Jin, Sui, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ning, and Qing. It was established on January 10, 1939, and Cheng Qian, commander of the First Theater of Operations, served as the director of the battalion. On February 1, Tianshui Xingying was officially opened. The General Office, the Confidential Office, and the General Affairs Office of the Tianshui Xingying Camp were stationed in xi'an Senior Middle School with their own journeys, and the personnel of other places were scattered in other neighborhoods.
But what is less known is that the Xi'an camp was less than 3 months after its establishment, and on March 7, 1939, it was hit by a crazy air raid by Japanese devils, and the entire camp was almost destroyed.
I think of the beginning of June 1936, there was an air defense exhibition held in Xi'an High School, but on the other side, it was really attacked by the aircraft of Japanese devils, causing one of the biggest disasters during the War of Resistance, which made people sigh in surprise!
At that time, the three openings of the east, west, and north air raid shelters built in the Xi'an Senior Middle School were all blown up, and more than a hundred officers and men hiding in the air raid shelters were sealed in the holes, and the bombs dropped by the enemy seemed to be suffocating gas bombs, so more than a hundred officers and men in the basement instantly suffocated and fell unconscious. Of these, 64 were killed, 43 were wounded, and the camp elite suffered heavy losses. Among the victims were "Lieutenant General Li Guoliang, Major General Zhang Chenxing, Deputy Chief of Staff of Major General Zhang Chenxing, and Major General Staff Chief Zhao Xiangzhi." Admiral Cheng Qian, director of the general, was also buried in the air raid shelter, where he was shocked and unconscious, and was rescued and rescued.
In this enemy air raid, the Japanese army should have detected the specific address of the Tianshui Xingxing camp in advance and sent multiple batches of aircraft to accurately bomb, which caused such heavy casualties. When the enemy plane flew over Xi'an, it was found that a traitor had fired a signal bomb near the camp, and the enemy plane dropped several bombs on the target, and one bomb landed in the hole in the courtyard on the right. What makes people indignant is China's traitors, why are there so many, so evil, so shameless?!
It was not until 2014 that I learned the outline of such an extremely serious incident from my literary friend Wang Minquan, a colleague of the Xi'an Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, in the article "The Bombing of the Tianshui Xing Camp During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression". As a professional writer who cares about literature and history, this makes me deeply ashamed and shocked. So I thought: Such a national vendetta and a deep hatred in the blood sea should be erected on the monument and carved in stone at the old site of the Tianshui Xingying Camp in the Xi'an Senior High School at the East Hall Gate, so that every Xi'an person will always remember it.
