The controversial blockchain game that was previously removed from the Epic Games Store is coming back to the platform.
The Epic Games Store strictly prohibits any game that is classified as "adult only" by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), typically excessively nudity or violence. However, Epic has announced that only games that use blockchain technology and are classified as adult by the rating committee will be an exception to this rule.
In a statement to the media, Epic Games spokesperson Brian Sharon said, "Some blockchain-based games have received Acknowledgement-Only (AO) ratings from Yang Ye Ratings due to their special implementation of the Aoi UAE. We've updated our Epic Games Store content policy to allow games that can only be rated as adult-only games due to the use of blockchain or NFT technology. She also clarified that the ban on pornography, gambling and hateful content remains in place, and that blockchain games cannot encourage gambling.
Epic said that two blockchain games, Gods Unchained and Striker Manager 3, were recently removed from the Epic Store due to being rated above Adults Only, and that they have been re-launched due to new policy changes.
