Dylan, who was in critical condition, was later taken to the intensive care unit of Melbourne Hospital, where he was on life support for more than four months. The family admitted that because the situation has not improved, they have been mentally prepared for the possibility of holding a funeral for Dylan.
After Dylan woke up, he told the local media that when he was bitten by a mosquito, although he knew that there might be a risk of infection, he didn't pay much attention to it at first.
Although Dylan was discharged from the hospital in September, he still needs to face a long road to rehabilitation due to the damage caused by encephalitis to his memory, language, body balance and motor functions.
