In the past few days, in the Taklamakan Desert in Yuli County, Bazhou, Xinjiang, the endless sand dunes are covered in silver, clouds and mist are entwined in the sky, and the vast sea of sand is like an ink scroll. As the temperature gradually rises, the sand dunes on the sunny side gradually reveal their original golden yellow, and the white snow that has not completely melted on the shady side shows streamlined ripples with the undulations of the dunes.

According to the forecast, from the 16th to the 21st, the minimum temperature in Beijing for 6 consecutive days will be lower than -14 °C, and the maximum temperature will basically hover around -5 °C. For the next two weeks or so, the temperature in Beijing will be below freezing all day.

At 15:50 on December 16, the Jilin Provincial Meteorological Observatory issued a blue warning for severe cold. It is expected that from 20 o'clock on December 16 to 20 o'clock on the 19th, the daily minimum temperature in some areas of northern Xinjiang, central and eastern Northwest China, Inner Mongolia, North China, Northeast China, Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, northern Jiangnan, Guizhou and other places will be more than 5 °C lower than the same period in history, of which the daily minimum temperature in the eastern part of Northwest China, Inner Mongolia, Northeast China, North China, central and eastern Huanghuai, central and eastern Jianghuai and other places will be more than 7 °C lower than the same period in history, and the minimum temperature 0 °C line will be located in the southern part of Guizhou to the northern part of Jiangnan.
