On December 16, openEuler Summit 2023 was successfully concluded at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. The summit was co-organized by openEuler community members such as Kylinsoft, Kylin Xinan, Huawei, Hyperfusion, Intel, iSoftStone, UnionTech Software, Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ningsi Software, Dongfangtong, and Chinasoft International. The openEuler community has always adhered to the principle of "co-construction, sharing, and co-governance", and has worked together with partners across the entire industry chain to build a sustainable new open source ecosystem.
Jiang Dayong, Chairman of the openEuler Committee and Assistant to the Chairman of the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, said in his speech that in 2021, industry ecological partners jointly donated the openEuler project to the Open Atom Open Source Foundation.
At present, the cumulative installed base of openEuler system has exceeded 6.1 million sets, and according to IDC's forecast, the market share of openEuler system in China will reach 36.8% in 2023. The openEuler community has attracted 1,300+ leading enterprises, research institutions, and universities to join, gathered 16,800+ open source contributors, established 100+ special interest groups (SIGs), released 2 long-term versions and 5 innovative versions, and the number of community version downloads has exceeded 2 million. The openEuler open source community has become the most dynamic and innovative open source community in China.

The China Computer Federation (CCF) is an academic community in the field of computing, with a mission to promote the development of computing and enhance professional capacity building, with 107,000 members. CCF actively provides services around the needs of its members, and carries out more than 1,500 activities every year, making it the most active and excellent club in China. Tang Weiqing, Secretary-General of China Computer Federation, said in his speech that in the future, CCF will actively explore cooperation with openEuler in the direction of open source and operating system to jointly promote the application and development of China's operating system.

In the past four years, openEuler has achieved rapid development. In 2021, Euler, an open-source operating system for digital infrastructure, was officially released to support various forms of devices such as servers, cloud computing, edge computing, and embedded at the same time. At present, in addition to continuously enhancing the layout in key scenarios such as the server field, cloud, edge, and embedded, Euler is also promoting native development based on openEuler to realize the orchestration and construction of infrastructure that can support multiple architectures, multiple versions, and visualization. Through projects such as FangTian and high-performance Windows, we can realize the interconnection with the HarmonyOS ecosystem in more scenarios, further expand the boundaries of collaboration between Euler and HarmonyOS, and gradually build the best computing power base in the intelligent era.

In the intelligent era, operating systems need to be continuously innovated for AI. On the one hand, EulerCopilot is trained based on a large number of code and data of the Euler operating system, which initially implements functions such as code-assisted generation, intelligent problem analysis, and system-assisted O&M, making Euler more intelligent. On the other hand, Euler uses unified management and scheduling of heterogeneous resources, coordinates memory and computing power, and realizes the deep integration of CPU and NPU, fully exploits idle resources, improves effective utilization, and improves AI training and inference performance, enabling AI to be more efficient.

openEuler is committed to building an international open source assistance platform, and has in-depth cooperation with international mainstream foundations, and has supported 98% of the world's mainstream open source software. Euler is deeply involved in the formulation and promotion of global mainstream software supply chain security standards and specifications such as OpenChain and OpenSSF, and is the first to pass the OpenChain ISO 5230 open source software protocol certification, and the community infrastructure has reached the OpenSSF SLSA L3 standard. In addition, it also cooperates with global mainstream communities and organizations such as SPDX and CHAOSS to meet the localization requirements of various regions around the world and standardize the international governance of the Euler open source community. At present, the openEuler community has carried out in-depth cooperation with 9 leading overseas open source foundations, providing services for more than 150 countries and regions, building a new global open source ecosystem, and creating a new model of open source in China.
l Intel has become a gold donor of the openEuler community, working with the industry to build an ecological foundation
Since signing the CLA in 2021, Intel has joined the openEuler community, actively contributing to the ecological adaptation and technical optimization of the x86 platform, introducing the x86 multi-generation platform Ice Lake, SPR, and Emerald Rapids to openEuler, integrating the AI computing acceleration framework into openEuler, and making in-depth contributions to multiple core SIGs of openEuler. At the conference, Intel announced that it has officially become a gold donor of the openEuler community, working with the industry to build an operating system ecosystem and provide better resources and support for developers around the world. Yang Jiguo, Director of Intel's Open Source Technology Center, said: "In the future, Intel will continue to integrate Intel's upstream open source projects into openEuler, and work with openEuler to continue to make efforts in AI, enabling AI computing power from software and hardware synergy, and meeting the needs of various industries for AI intelligent computing technology."

Since the establishment of the openEuler project group at the end of last year, projects from leading enterprises and developers in various industries have begun to join, and the number of open source projects in the openEuler project group has continued to increase, and the industries covered by the community have become increasingly diverse. At the meeting, 13 projects from 8 companies, including China Mobile Cloud Competence Center, China Unicom Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beihang University, WeBank, Beijing Dongfang Tong Technology Co., Ltd., Sangfor Technology Co., Ltd., and Jingdong Technology Information Technology Co., Ltd., signed donation intentions with the openEuler project group. This donation marks that openEuler has entered a new stage of open source governance, and donations from different industries and fields have injected new innovation into openEuler, further enhanced the community's technological innovation capabilities, and promoted the ecological prosperity of the community.

openEuler does not innovate for the sake of innovation, but brings innovation to thousands of industries and brings innovation results to more industry users. The top 10 joint innovation achievements of openEuler & Friends 4.0 were released, and 10 companies, including Inspur UBML, Haohan Deepin, Intel, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, JD.com, Mobile Cloud, Sangfor, Migu Video, WeBank, and China Mobile Online, carried out joint innovation in the whole process and all scenarios around the actual use scenarios of users. By strengthening cross-platform support and improving AI and ML support, openEuler provides developers with more convenient and powerful technical support and promotes the prosperity and development of the entire open source operating system ecosystem. The release of the top 10 joint innovation achievements also means that applications in multiple industries and scenarios recognize the technology of the openEuler community.
Innovative projects are the driving force for the development of the openEuler community, and developers are the energy source for the sustainable development of the community. At the meeting, the openEuler community selected 29 "openEuler 2023 Outstanding Community Projects" and 34 "openEuler 2023 Contribution Stars".
