Recently, the 10,000 acres of fir forest in Changdu Lake, Xinzhou District, Wuhan City ushered in the most colorful season of the year. Viewed from the air, the rows of pond cedars are picturesque, the clear water surface reflects the branches and leaves like fire, and the color palette between heaven and earth seems to have been overturned, and the winter scenery like an oil painting can be seen.
On December 14th, the reporter came to the "water forest" of Changdu Lake, on the plank road, the tourists who came to visit were strolling leisurely, sometimes walking and seeing, sometimes taking pictures and checking in, immersed in the magic of nature; boating on the water, the straight and straight pond cedar is close at hand, and the egrets occasionally fly over the water, setting off a string of ripples, as if they are in a fairyland on earth; and the photographers on the side set up "long guns and short cannons" to record the "fairy tale forest" in their eyes, and freeze the "poetry and distance" of Xinzhou , a picture of trees growing in the water, boats walking in the forest, birds singing on the branches, and the beautiful scenery of people swimming in the painting is intoxicating.
"Today, I came to Changdu Lake with my friends to take a turn, and I feel that the air here is very fresh, the scenery is very beautiful, and the photos are also very good. Ms. Zhou, who came from Wuhan city to play, said with a smile that she would come to Changdu Lake again next summer to experience the different summer scenery.
It is understood that the water forest of Changdu Lake Wetland was founded in March 1974, a total of 34,600 biennial metasequoia and pond fir seedlings were planted, and in 1986, ditches were built around the pond fir forest, irrigated water to raise fish, and raised ducks on the water surface, creating the first "forest-fish-duck" ecological three-dimensional forestry model, and in this regard, the "water forest" was born.
There are about 300 acres of water forest, and since 2019, 260 acres of pond fir forest have been newly planted around the water forest, which can be connected with the original water forest after irrigation. It is also a breeding and migratory site for rare migratory birds in the Asia-Pacific region, with nearly 10,000 birds roosting here during peak summer. Because of its unique formation, the water forest is called a rare artificial wetland with high scientific and technological content by experts from WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), and it is also the education base of Wuhan Bird Lovers Association, the demonstration area of judicial ecological restoration wetland of the Municipal Court, and the biodiversity open education base of the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau.
