The People's Bank of China is scheduled to issue 2024 Chinese New Year commemorative coins and banknotes from December 15, 2023, including 1 gold commemorative coin, 1 silver commemorative coin, 1 two-color copper alloy commemorative coin, and 1 commemorative banknote, all of which are legal tender of the People's Republic of China.
The obverse of this set of gold and silver commemorative coins is a combination of traditional Chinese auspicious ornaments, and the name of the country and the year are published. Among them, the reverse of the 1-gram round gold commemorative coin is designed with a combination of the character "Fu" and the shape of a cartoon dragon, and the denomination is published, while the reverse of the 8-gram diamond-shaped silver commemorative coin is designed with the word "Fu", lanterns, deer, butterflies and other decorative combinations, and the denomination is published. The maximum mintage of 1-gram round gold commemorative coins is 100,000 pieces. The 8-gram diamond-shaped silver commemorative coin has a maximum mintage of 1,500,000 pieces.
The obverse of the two-color copper alloy commemorative coin features the words "People's Bank of China" and "10 Yuan", the Chinese pinyin letters "SHIYUAN" and the year number "2024", and the shading is lined with a group flower pattern; the reverse pattern is a dragon image combining traditional Chinese paper-cutting art and decorative New Year painting elements, lined with flower lanterns and Ganoderma lucidum, and the word "Jiachen" is printed on the left side of the coin. The two-color copper alloy commemorative coin has a denomination of 10 yuan, and the number of issuances is 120 million (including 10,000 historical currency archives).
The main scene on the front of the commemorative banknote is the shape of a dragon, with the national emblem of the People's Republic of China, "People's Bank of China" and the seal book "Dragon" on the top, and the glorious light variable denomination number "20" and the Chinese character "贰拾元" below, dynamic holographic pattern, transparent window, Braille denomination mark and serial number; "2024", the president's chapter, the denomination number "20", the "People's Bank of China" Chinese pinyin and the words "People's Bank of China Ershiyuan" in Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur and Zhuang ethnic languages. The commemorative banknote has a denomination of 20 yuan, a length of 145 mm, a width of 70 mm, and is made of plastic, with a circulation of 100 million pieces (including 20,000 pieces of historical currency files).
