In the past 30 years, Shaxian snacks have gone out of the mountain gate, entered the market, and grown into a characteristic industry that enriches the people. At present, Shaxian snacks are distributed in 66 countries and regions around the world, with more than 88,000 Shaxian snack stores and more than 3,900 chain standard stores across the country, with an annual output value of more than 50 billion yuan and more than 300,000 jobs.

Zhang Changsong, secretary of the party branch of Yubang Village, introduced that Yubang Village has jurisdiction over 4 natural villages, with a total of 309 households and 1,112 people, and more than 80% of the village's labor force is distributed throughout the country, engaged in the snack industry. Not long ago, the 2023 Shaxian Snack Tourism and Cultural Festival and Cross-Strait Food Festival opened in Shaxian County. Shaxian snacks have become an important platform for cross-strait non-governmental exchanges.

"After Shaxian Snacks first landed in Taiwan in 2010, the cooperation with Taiwan's catering industry has become more and more extensive. According to Qiao Jie, vice president of the China Cuisine Association, at present, Shaxian snacks have opened more than 10 branches in Taiwan, and more than 20 festivals and snack cultural exchange activities have been carried out in the two places, and Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises have invested in more than 20 projects such as Taiwanese cuisine and modern agriculture in Shaxian County.

In recent years, the Shaxian District Government has seized the opportunity of Sanming to build a cross-strait rural integrated development pilot zone and actively promoted cross-strait integrated development. Since 2023, more than 10 activities (events) have been held locally, such as the Fujian-Taiwan Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament, the Cross-Strait Basketball Invitational Tournament, the First Cross-Strait Fire and Rescue Integration Development Seminar, and the "China (Shaxian) Snack Tourism Cultural Festival and Cross-Strait Food Festival". Wang Renwei, director of the United Front Work Department of the Shaxian District Party Committee, said that he would give full play to the unique role of Shaxian snacks as a "national snack" in the emotional identity and cultural belonging of people on both sides of the strait, use Shaxian snacks as a medium to weave a dense non-governmental exchange network, and promote the high-quality development of the construction of the cross-strait rural integration development pilot zone.
