M7 was slapped in the face again? "Extremely cold pure electric mileage" only ran 10.6 kilometers!

On December 14th, in the live broadcast of the open day of the winter test of the Chedi Commander, the most eye-catching cruising range test results were announced: looking up to the U8 won the championship with 65.5 kilometers, and the much-talked-about M7 was slapped in the face again, only 10.6 kilometers.

In this 2023 Winter Test Open Day, the organizer invited all the car companies participating in the test to Mohe for on-site observation, and conducted a live broadcast of the whole process. In recent days, after conducting winter tests on multiple brands of vehicles, the "2023 Winter Test" report has been released. Among them, in the plug-in hybrid group's "pure electric range achievement rate" project, the M7 extended range version ranked first from the bottom with a range achievement rate of 31.6%, which caused disputes. Some car company executives even denounced the test as "a test that pits people and misleads the public". Since then, many car companies, including Great Wall, Geely, and Lantu, have questioned the results of the "winter test", which also makes the live broadcast test of Chedi more interesting.

A total of six models participated in the "Extreme Cold Pure Electric Range" test, including Yangwang U8 (2023 U8 Luxury Edition), Wenjie M7 (2024 M7 Max Five-seater 4WD Intelligent Driving Edition), VOYAH FREE (2024 Ultra-Long Range Intelligent Driving Version), WEY Brand Alpine DHT (2023 Alpine 4WD Flagship Edition), Denza D9 (2022 D9 DM-i 970 4WD Flagship Edition) and Lynk & Co 08 (Lynk & Co 08 EM-P220 4WD Performance Halo).

As a result, the measured cruising range results are as follows: Yangwang U8 65.5 km (CLTC pure electric range 124 km), VOYAH FREE 36.8 km (WLTC pure electric range 160 km, CLTC pure electric range 210 km), DENZA D9 18.9 km (NEDC pure electric range 180 km, WLTC pure electric range 145 km), WEY brand Alpine 17.4 km (WLTC pure electric range 140 km), and Wenjie M7 10.6 km (WLTC electric range 175 km, CLTC electric range 210 km), Lynk & Co 08 EM-P 6.5 km (WLTC electric range 185 km, CLTC electric range 220 km).

Some people may think that the data of some models is too eye-catching. In fact, although the test rules are exactly the same as the previous tests, due to the lower ambient temperature and longer stand-up time, the test results will also vary greatly, and some models will be obtained under abnormal conditions.

It was revealed that the Lynk & Co 08EM-P, which was "at the bottom" of the results, lit up the engine failure light during the maintenance process, and should not continue to participate in the test. As for the M7, the 10.6km result means that when the car reaches this mileage, the engine starts to work and the battery is still 33% charged. After running 18.9 kilometers in the same pure electric state, the engine began to intervene when there was still 24% of the battery left.

Some industry insiders pointed out that in the normal test, the total voltage after full charge, the remaining voltage of the battery when the engine enters the boundary and other values should be combined to accurately detect the battery working condition of the vehicle.
