author:East China Sea calligraphy and painting

Yang Yisun (1812-1881) Character Yong Chun, Trumpet Zi You, Late Signature Hao Shu. Jiangsu Changshu people. Qing Daoguang twenty-three years (1843) raised people. The official went to the prefect of Fengyang in Anhui. After his father's death, he resigned and never held office again. When he was young, he learned from Li Zhaoluo and was proficient in "Guan Zi" and "Zhuangzi". Good at calligraphy, especially love the "study of seals", the first to learn Deng Shiru, and then absorb the Jinwen, Shigu, Hanbei seal and other calligraphy, over time has a unique feature, for the Qing Dynasty has outstanding achievements of the calligrapher. After resigning and returning to Li, the name of the seal book was heavy for a while, and the seal was engraved part-time. There are "Guan Zi Now Compilation", "Zhuangzi Recent Reading", "Guan Hao Jushi Collection", "Literary Explanation", "In the Past" and so on.

Yang Yisun devoted himself to Deng Shiru's calligraphy, devoted himself to collecting Tang's handwriting, and formed his own calligraphy style on the basis of in-depth study of Deng Shu. His achievements in calligraphy are mainly reflected in the two styles of calligraphy: seal and subordinate. In the fullness and solidity of the pen, it inherits the characteristics of Deng's technique, and as for the structure and form of the text, it jumps out of the previous practice of the calligraphers who followed the rules of the "Explanation of Words" and the Small Seal of the Qin Dynasty. In his later years, Yang Yisun studied the Shigu and Zhong Ding scripts, taking their pen meanings and creating a style of writing that was different from that of the various families. He wrote seal books, changing the glyphs from slender to square, and the dot paintings were jagged, showing a left-low-right-high trend, thus forming a major feature of his personal style. He himself said: "Wushu Zhenru and Deng Shi are stubborn, and they are proud or excessive, but they are not enough to be subordinate." It can be seen that he is very conceited about doing his own seal. Yang Yisun often stamped a small seal of "no hardships and no grinding" on his proud works, and after that, the writers of the seal book were more generous and generous, and the changes in physical posture gradually became richer, which can be described as the result of Yang's pioneering atmosphere.
