Tear off the fig leaf of the tram! Japanese plug-in hybrid range exceeds 2000km!

"Endurance anxiety" has always been a problem that electric vehicles can't get around, in the past National Day holiday, many electric car owners should have experienced the bitterness of "more cars and fewer piles".
In order to alleviate the anxiety of electric car owners, industry experts have been thinking of countermeasures. Upgrading batteries is one of the current mainstream practices, and solid-state batteries, which have been quite popular recently, are the results of efforts.

However, due to various conditions, solid-state batteries have not yet been mass-produced and installed, which means that to some extent, "range anxiety" is still unsolvable in the short term.
Just when everyone thought the ending was timed, Honda stepped up.
In the "5th Hybrid Car Extreme Race", the all-new Accord e:PHEV achieved a range of 2,132.7 km, while the Haoying e:PHEV achieved a range of 1,936.1 km.
What is this concept?
At present, "endurance of 1000 kilometers" is the industry's recognized threshold, who can cross this threshold, who has proud capital. In contrast, the performance of the all-new Accord e:PHEV and Haoying e:PHEV can no longer be described as "overstepping", and it is not an exaggeration to say that they are "epoch-making products".
For consumers, the range of 2000 kilometers completely exceeds expectations, which is no longer a matter of replenishing energy several times a week, if it is only used for commuting to and from work, the new Accord e:PHEV and Haoying e:PHEV can be replenished for about 2-3 months/time.
If you change to a fuel vehicle, the same mileage, the cost of light fuel may cost hundreds or thousands of yuan. In other words, the all-new Accord e:PHEV and Haoying e:PHEV can save thousands of yuan in car costs a year.
The point is that the all-new Accord e:PHEV and Haoying e:PHEV achieve fuel consumption of 2.02L and 2.4L.
One thing to say, in the field of passenger cars, such results are among the best. By extension, the advantage of "fuel economy for Japanese cars" has been interpreted by Honda in another way in the era of electrification.
As for why the all-new Accord e:PHEV and Haoying e:PHEV can go so far, the core is that it is equipped with a "fourth-generation i-MMD dual-motor hybrid system" inside.
Those who are familiar with China's automobile consumer market know that Japanese cars have not been so popular in China since last year, and a strong evidence is that "models that used to sell out casually are gradually no longer selling".
Reflected at the market level, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan have all experienced varying degrees of sales declines, and in the eyes of consumers, after experiencing events such as Toyota, Honda's oil emulsification and Nissan CVT transmission failure, the once proud "reliable, affordable, and sellable" golden signboard of Japanese cars has also begun to fail.
Of course, there is a more important reason why Japanese cars have fallen from the altar - domestic cars have really risen, more precisely, domestic new energy vehicles have risen.
Taking BYD as an example, its hybrid products are not inferior to Japanese brands in terms of technology and car experience, such as the Song PLUS DM-i, although its fuel consumption level is the same as that of the CR-V hybrid version, but the price is more advantageous.
Domestic brands overtook in the corners of the new energy field, which caught Japanese brands off guard.
To make matters worse, apart from China, Japanese cars are losing their advantage in other regions. Such as Thailand, for a long time in the past, Japanese cars in Thailand can go sideways, but after the advent of the electrification era, the position of Japanese brands in Thailand is shaky, BYD, Nezha, etc., have begun to catch up with Japanese cars in terms of sales, before BYD ATTO3 was on sale in Thailand, but also had to open the "buy a car with a number" restriction because of too many buyers.
It seems that the territory of Japanese cars is being eaten away by domestic cars step by step, but the new Accord e:PHEV and Haoying e:PHEV tell us that this may not be the case, and that the horn of Japanese cars may be sounded at any time under the premise that the "range anxiety" has not been completely resolved. Perhaps, starting with the all-new Accord e:PHEV and Haoying e:PHEV, the "counterattack" plan of Japanese cars has already been implemented.
For domestic brands, "corner overtaking" is very likely to be realized, but it should not be now.
