As a member of the national table tennis collective, Zheng Peifeng's career is not long. Zheng Peifeng was born in Jinjiang, Fujian Province in 1996. His father is a veteran table tennis fan, and when Zheng Peifeng was 4 years old, he began to give him strict basic training. Later, because he admired Ma Lin, he imitated Ma Lin's style of play, and soon couldn't find an opponent in the local amateur court. Subsequently, Zheng Peifeng entered a formal institution for professional table tennis training and study. After that, he entered the Fujian provincial team.
In 2008, Zheng Peifeng won the men's singles championship and the men's team championship in the southern division of the National Championships, and thus entered the second national table tennis team. In 2010, Zheng Peifeng won the World Junior Championship Tour. In 2011, Zheng Peifeng won the men's doubles and men's team championships at the World Youth Championships. In 2013, Zheng Peifeng began to compete in the adult arena. Due to the fierce competition, Zheng Peifeng did not have many opportunities to play. In the 2015 National Championships, Zheng Peifeng partnered with Liu Dingshuo and won the men's doubles runner-up. At the 2018 Czech Open, Zheng Peifeng won the men's singles championship.
In 2020, due to special reasons, Fan Zhendong could only participate in the national championship in his personal name. Fan Zhendong invited Zheng Peifeng as an off-court coach. Fan Zhendong successively defeated Ma Long and Wang Chuqin to win the championship. In October 2021, Zheng Peifeng announced his retirement. Since then, Zheng Peifeng has become the coach of the national table tennis youth team.
