This morning, some people in East Toronto may be surprised to find a kangaroo running down the street on the road.
Up to now, the local police have not found this kangaroo out of nowhere, if residents see it, they need to call the police immediately, and be careful not to approach, after all, with the ferocity of the kangaroo, it is not a joke to really take a punch or kick.
A video shared on Facebook by Team Chelsea, a local lost pet support group, on Friday (Dec. 1) morning, showed a marsupial moving west along Winchester Road from Harmony Road in Oshawa, Greater Toronto Area.
According to the organization, the video was shot by a volunteer at around 7:45 a.m. on Friday.
The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said they were reported to have spotted a kangaroo around 7:40 a.m.
They said that the police at the time could not find the animal and cleaned up the scene.
Kangaroos seen in zoos or documentaries may be cute, but according to research from the University of Melbourne in Australia, they can also pose a danger – through potentially fatal kicks.
"Kangaroos are wild animals," an article on the university's website said.
"It's important to remember that while kangaroos can make fun pets, they have never been domesticated, that is, their behavior is primarily driven by instinct. ”
"Although the kangaroo's first instinct is usually to run away, it will also attack if it feels cornered..."
It is not known where kangaroos came from.
CTV News has asked about Oshawa Zoo, Toronto Zoo, and Jungle Cat World, a wildlife park in Orono, Ontario. to find out if the marsupial belongs to any facility.
Police said anyone who spotted the kangaroo should not approach it
