Toyota China recalled: 350,000 Corolla and at least 180,000 Highlander were recruited

Fast technology news on December 1, early this morning, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued three Toyota recall information in China, including domestic and imported models.

1: FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. are recalling some domestic and imported vehicles.

1. FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. is recalling some Corolla vehicles manufactured between August 6, 2019 and July 11, 2023, a total of 350021 vehicles.

2. GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. is recalling some Highlander vehicles manufactured between October 13, 2018 and January 14, 2022, a total of 157458 vehicles.

3. Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. is recalling some imported RX vehicles produced between September 4, 2018 and September 6, 2022, totaling 68,434 units.

Reason of the recall: Due to the insufficient pressure resistance of the internal parts of the high-pressure fuel pump, the inside of the fuel pump may be worn, resulting in cracks in the welding parts of the fuel pump due to stress concentration, and in extreme cases, the fuel may leak from the cracks, so that it is exposed to the external fire source, there is a risk of fire, and at the same time, the fuel leakage and volatilization have unreasonable emission hazards.

Remedial measures: Toyota will inspect the high-pressure fuel pump for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, and replace the parts that do not meet the requirements with the improved high-pressure fuel pump to eliminate potential safety hazards and unreasonable emission hazards.

2. GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. recall some domestic and imported vehicles.

1. GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. is recalling some Highlander vehicles manufactured between October 13, 2018 and March 31, 2021, totaling 186837 vehicles.

2. Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. is recalling some imported RX vehicles produced between November 30, 2018 and March 1, 2021, totaling 88,545 units.

Reason of the recall: Due to the imperfection of the fuel injection correction control program in the engine electronic control unit (ECU), the actual fuel injection of the engine may be lower than expected, resulting in the unstable speed of the engine during cold start, and in extreme cases, the engine accidentally stalls when the vehicle is driving at low speed, increasing the risk of being rear-ended, and there are potential safety hazards.

Remedial measures: GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will upgrade the engine ECU control program for the vehicles covered by the recall free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.

3. GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. is recalling some Highlander cars.

GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products.

Effective December 15, 2023, a total of 168697 Highlander vehicles manufactured between August 7, 2021 and October 5, 2023 are being recalled.

Reason of the recall: Due to the improper installation structure of the front bumper lower guard plate, when the lower guard plate is bumped, some of the claws may be loosened, and the front bumper lower guard plate and related parts fixed with it may fall off, which is a potential safety hazard.

Remedial measures: GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will inspect the front bumper for the vehicles covered by the recall free of charge, and if there is no damage, add retainers and screws to reinforce it, and replace the upper and lower guard plates of the front bumper if damaged, and use retainers and screws to reinforce to eliminate potential safety hazards.

It should be noted that the Highlander in the three consecutive recalls are all included, and they are all third-generation models, and the production time also coincides, which means that there will be at least more than 180,000 Highlanders with one defect, and some will coexist with three, if your car is also recalled, remember to pay attention to the reminder at any time.
