The draw for the men's basketball qualifying tournament for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was held last night at the FIBA headquarters in Switzerland, with 24 of the 19 teams that qualified for the men's World Cup and five qualifying rounds divided into six brackets according to the world rankings, with a total of four regions, namely Piraeus in Greece, Riga in Latvia, San Juan in Puerto Rico and Valencia in Spain. Each division is divided into two groups of three teams each, with the teams in Pot 1, 4 and 5 entering Group A and the teams in Pot 2, 3 and 6 entering Group B of each region, and the host team automatically entering the region, with a maximum of two European teams in each group, a maximum of three European teams in each region, a maximum of one American team in each group, and a maximum of one team from Asia, Oceania and Africa in each region.
