After the success of Song MAX's dragon face design concept, it quickly expanded into a BYD brand family face, not only with a new second-generation Tang and Qin model, but also with corresponding skinlifts by Yuan and Song. However, unlike the Yuan model, which was only changed in the front of the pure electric version, Song's redesign was very thorough, the front, rear and interior were all new style designs, and it was a comprehensive coverage of the gasoline version, DM plug-in hybrid version and EV pure electric version. Its strength is basically consistent with the new Tang and Qin, which shows that BYD attaches great importance to Song models.
The new Song model body length and width 4600 * 1830 * 1700mm, because it is a facelift version, so the wheelbase of 2660mm will not have any change, the body length is increased by 35mm compared with the current model, but also because the front face and rear rear redesign, and the car space is not related, and the height is reduced by 20mm because the luggage rack has become a top-mounted design.
The front face design is the standard dragon face design, compared to the earlier Song MAX, the new family face also adds a "dragon whisker" element extending to the chrome trim of the headlights. The grille section of the three power versions also adopts a differentiated design, the EV pure electric version is a fully enclosed cross groove grid; the DM plug-in version is a hollowed-out chrome-plated double horizontal strip design with a blue background LOGO; while the gasoline version adopts a thicker single chrome horizontal strip with multiple grooves on each bar. After all, the positioning is lower than Tang, so the new Song does not configure a full-LED LCD screen dashboard, but changes the original new car computer display to an erect rectangular screen, and the size is only slightly increased.

In addition to the gasoline version of the model using ordinary automatic gear lever, DM plug-in mixed version and EV pure electric version are equipped with electronic gear lever, but unlike Tang's short gear handle, a gear lever design similar to BMW chicken leg style is adopted. The power system part basically continues the current configuration, the gasoline version and the DM plug-in hybrid version are configured with 1.5T engines, of which the plug-in version adopts the front and rear axle dual motor configuration, and the EV pure electric version is the front axle single motor configuration, but the EV version of the single motor power is stronger than the DM version, and the pure electric mileage under its comprehensive working conditions is increased from 350 km to 400 km, so the name of the new pure electric version song will also be upgraded from the current EV400 to EV500.
