"May 18 International Museum Day" is coming, and the Guangzhou Thirteen Elements Museum in Guangzhou Cultural Park has prepared a variety of exhibitions and activities to celebrate the annual museum event with citizens and tourists.
This time, Guangzhou Thirteen Elements Museum launched the Guangdong Embroidery Theme Exhibition "Splendid Clouds - Collection of Guangdong Embroidery Boutique Exhibition", leading everyone to understand the history, characteristics and stitching skills of Guangdong embroidery.
This exhibition of more than 70 pieces (sets) of the museum's collection shows the Fine Embroidery collection of the Guangzhou Thirteen Elements Museum, all donated by Wang Heng and Feng Jie. The exhibits include widely embroidered clothing, door curtains, bedspreads, chair covers, shawls, handicrafts that highlight the mood of life, such as screens, export fans, fan bags, and shou tents, complements, and hydrangea balls that are full of folk culture colors. The audience can not only appreciate the exquisite points of Guangdong embroidery needlework, but also feel the beauty of Guangdong embroidery.
The innovative highlight of this exhibition is the variety of cultural relics on display, covering a long span of historical years and systematically displaying cultural relics. Through the four major parts of "Unique Radiance", "Skillful Hands and Wisdom", "Guangdong Embroidery Export" and "West Wind and East Rhyme", the exhibition shows the historical and cultural characteristics of Guangdong embroidery, craft characteristics, business and trade profiles and the style of Chinese and Western integration to show everyone the historical story of Guangdong embroidery and its unique charm.

1. 18th century Peacock flowers and birds landscape figures widely embroidered
The Collection of the Thirteen Elements Museum in Guangzhou, a rare export and Wide-scale embroidery work in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. The colorful silk thread on the back also reflects the characteristics of broad embroidery with needles as pens and threads as colors.

In the collection of the Guangzhou Thirteen Elements Museum, according to the knowledge on the embroidery, this is Wu Daorong's congratulatory account for the sixtieth birthday of the elder. Wu Daorong (1852~1936), a native of Panyu, Guangdong, formerly known as Guozhen,Ziyuchen (玉臣), nicknamed Obscure, Late Tang'an, and Hanlin in the late Qing Dynasty. Wu Daorong, known as the "Generation of Shuo Confucians", was the grandmaster admired by Shilin at that time.

Guangzhou Thirteen Elements Museum collection, in the 18th century, Chinese furniture exported to Europe was mainly lacquered wood furniture, mostly using black lacquer depiction of gold decorative techniques, which lasted until the beginning of the 20th century. The top of this screen is a European-style crown shape, and the center of the screen is a widely embroidered bird figure, which is divided into two parts, which means auspicious and beautiful, and has a great decorative effect.
