【Foreword】
As a military weapon of strategic significance, the atomic bomb is an indispensable weapon for the national defense of various military powers, and because of its terrifying explosive power, many countries usually take special care when dealing with the relationship between countries that possess atomic bombs, so as not to cause any misunderstandings and thus burn themselves.
The first time the atomic bomb appeared in front of the public was during World War II, when Japan used a lot of small means to win the war, and many countries involved in the war suffered certain losses.
The United States has also suffered greatly, but the Americans are not the kind of people who allow others to bully, they are sure to repay me, if you punch me, I will give you a knife, and "ruthlessness" is the characteristic of American soldiers.
Therefore, when Japan was still stubbornly resisting, two atomic bombs of the United States fell on Japanese territory, directly making Japan "dizzy." It is also for this reason that Japan's surrender speed has also accelerated a lot.
However, according to the United States itself, the areas that were hit by atomic bombs will not be inhabitable for less than 100 years, but the Hiroshima and Nagasaki regions of Japan, where atomic bombs were dropped, are now as if there had never been a major air raid.
So was the atomic bomb dropped by the United States during World War II really as powerful as they say? If this is true, why are these two regions of Japan still thriving?
[Current situation in areas affected by air raids]
What happened to the Hiroshima and Nagasaki regions that were hit by atomic bombings? If you look at it only in terms of economic development and population growth, these two regions are indeed developing very well, and it can be said that they are recovering at the speed of light.
Before World War II, the total population of Nagasaki was 250,000, but during the recovery period after the war, the population of the region increased to more than 500,000.
How should we understand the fact that Nagasaki, Japan, is still a few decades away from the 100 years that the United States has put it in, and that the population has increased dramatically?
As for the Hiroshima area, the economy has developed even more rapidly, with various infrastructure well-developed and the average wage per capita in the area reaching 42,000 US dollars.
Hiroshima is second to none in terms of population growth, and the total population of Hiroshima was only about 250,000 during World War II, but after the post-war reconstruction, the population of the region had exceeded the million mark, reaching 1.2 million.
It is appropriate to describe the development of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which attracted many foreign tourists due to the "gimmick" of the atomic bombing, so their tourism development is also in full swing.
Some people wonder about this, isn't it said that the Hiroshima and Nagasaki regions of Japan cannot be inhabited for a hundred years? It's not even been 100 years, and it can even be said that within a few years of the atomic bombing, the two regions began to rebuild after the war, so they are developing so well now.
So what were the specifics of the atomic bombing at that time? Is the American atomic bomb really that powerful?
【The Power of the Atomic Bomb】
At the outbreak of World War II, Japan participated in two large-scale wars at the same time, one in the Pacific region and the other in the war with China.
Therefore, in the confrontation with China, Japan resorted to many despicable means to force us to submit, but what they did not expect was that although we Chinese are inferior in weapons to them, we have a firm Chinese national spirit.
Relying on the wisdom of the ancestors to fight with Japan, the mainland's expeditionary force and the Eighth Route Army, like a slippery loach, could not be caught at all, and finally found it in this place, but it was not stable and ran away, and then it was difficult to find it.
The war lasted until 1945, and not only did Japan not take any advantage on China's side, but also suffered losses in the Pacific theater one after another, seeing that its guns and ammunition were about to run out.
Therefore, Japan has been persistent, hoping to wait for the "dawn" of victory, but they themselves did not expect that the "hope" did not wait, but waited for two atomic bombs from the United States.
The United States, which did not have a large-scale military mobilization in World War II, signed an agreement after attending the conference and under the expectations of everyone, it was decided that the United States would put an end to this "farce."
After all, what Japan did in World War II was really intolerable, and even the few countries that participated in the war could not stand all the bad acts that Japan had done against China.
In fact, the Americans have long wanted to "clean up" Japan, and the lost face in Japan's hands should be recovered in their hands, and the American soldiers who received the bombing mission from their superiors are also extremely proud.
Since the decision was made to drop the atomic bomb, the next step is to decide which two areas of Japan the two atomic bombs will be dropped. Taking into account Japan's military strength at that time, the US government believed that an atomic bomb should be dropped on the Nagashima area, the base camp of the Japanese Army, so that their military strength would be greatly weakened and they would not have the capital to make a comeback.
On August 6, 1945, after determining the location of the bomb, the U.S. Air Force soldiers were tasked with delivering the "Little Boy" atomic bomb over the Hiroshima area.
At that time, the people of Hiroshima did not know what was going to happen, and they were still discussing with great interest what it was in the sky, and at that moment, the atomic bomb that fell down shattered the entire Hiroshima area, and from the center of the explosion, almost no one survived in the Hiroshima area.
The United States decided to drop the last atomic bomb in the Ogura area, because Ogura is the place where Japan places guns and ammunition, and as long as there is no fire support, Japan will not be able to jump up.
On the day the "Fat Man" atomic bomb was dropped, dark clouds suddenly covered the sky over Ogura, and the US Air Force soldiers in charge of the drop could not accurately aim at the target.
The weather in Nagasaki that day was so sunny and cloudless that almost all the Japanese people could see the huge mushroom cloud blooming over Nagasaki.
These two atomic bombs of the United States caused the Japanese army to lose its original fighting spirit, made them lose confidence in victory, and doubted themselves.
The soldiers' hearts are scattered, is there still a need to fight this battle? The discouragement of the military means that Japan's chances of victory in this war are already very low, and if it does not surrender, perhaps even the whole of Japan will not be spared.
In the ensuing battlefield, Japan was directly defeated by other countries, and they decided to surrender on August 15 without any strings attached.
So what are the aftermath of the atomic bombing of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki regions of Japan? Is it true that the United States will not be able to live in a hundred years?
[Effects of the explosion]
Judging from the actual situation, we can know that the previous statement of the United States is indeed a bit "bluffing", after all, if no one is allowed to live in it for a hundred years, then Hiroshima and Nagasaki will not have such prosperity and development.
However, it is not true to say that the power of the atomic bomb is not as powerful as we think, after all, at that time, the development of the atomic bomb was very slow, and the only information we can understand about the atomic bomb can only be through the description of the United States.
As the first country to develop the atomic bomb, the United States was still not perfect in the research and development of the atomic bomb, and the atomic bombs dropped by the United States in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki areas were only two experimental products at that time, and they had not been test-fired in any way, so there was no factual basis for the atomic bomb power announced by the United States.
The reason why the two atomic bombs, Little Boy and Fat Man, were not so powerful was not only because they were only experimental objects, but also partly because when the United States designed the atomic bomb, because the technology was not very mature, the powerful nuclear material inside it was not fully brought into play.
In addition to these aspects, another reason is that the driver responsible for detonating the atomic bomb detonated the atomic bomb in advance, and they put the atomic bomb they carried at a relatively high position from the ground, and because the explosion site was far away from the ground, the ground damage was not as serious as expected.
After the Hiroshima and Nagasaki areas were bombed, it didn't take long for the post-war reconstruction work to begin, because Japan's territory was so large that if the two areas were removed, Japan might not be able to develop.
On the other hand, because Japan is surrounded by sea, there are a lot of sea breezes blowing throughout the year, and the sea breeze that blows constantly can carry away the radioactive materials left after the atomic bombing, and the sea water can also wash away the pollutants in the water.
However, this is only superficial, and if we dig deeper, we can find that after 1945, the rate of neonatal malformations in Hiroshima and Nagasaki was significantly higher than before.
The elderly living in these two areas are also more and more likely to suffer from diseases, especially the probability of severe diseases, which can be said to be the highest in history, and no one knows when this sequelae will disappear.
【Conclusion】
War is never a solution to the problem, it will only bring disaster to the world and bring suffering to the people of all countries living in the world, so I hope that there will be no more disasters in the world and that mankind will coexist peacefully.
