The Eagles and Magic will kick off this regular season game in Mexico City. It was the first time in the history of the Hawks that the Hawks played in Mexico, while the Magic played two games in Mexico in December 2018, beating the Bulls and Jazz respectively.
The Hawks lost to the Thunder in their last game and missed out on a five-game winning streak. The Hawks didn't lead the entire game, trailing by as many as 19 points, and although they scored 40 points in the fourth quarter, they still lost the game by nine points. Murray had 29 points and Trae Young had 22 points and 11 assists, and the Hawks shot just 37.3 percent from the field overall. The Magic lost their last game to the Mavericks, who led by as many as 15 points, but were blown up and reversed by the Mavericks in the second half. The biggest difference is that the Magic were 7-of-11 three-pointers in the first half and 1-of-16 in the second half. They also had 21 turnovers throughout the game, allowing the Mavericks to score 21 points as a result. Banchero scored a team-high 22 points, and the Magic are currently suffering from serious injuries, with Carter Jr., Fultz, Harris and Isaac all sidelined.
