Chen Rongsen: A stage that never ends

author:International Airport Information Network

The small bamboo board, with a crisp voice, sang the brilliant achievements of civil aviation reform and development, and also integrated Chen Rongsen's deep affection for civil aviation.

Chen Rongsen, who grew up in civil aviation, witnessed the great change of China's civil aviation from "fewer aircraft, fewer people, less experience, small noses and small eyes and small stalls" to "farmers in the ravines all board planes to play in the east, west, south and north". Fields, old mountain fronts, remote mountains, apron cabins... Chen Rongsen took the allegro that he had followed for 50 years, bringing laughter, hope, encouragement and emotion to people. In his words, the professional performance talents trained in the army were unreservedly dedicated to civil aviation.

Soon to retire, he is still accustomed to opening the curtains every morning and watching planes rush into the blue sky...

How wide is the sky, how wide the heart is, and the width of the sky is not as wide as the bosom of our civil aviation people;

How wide the sky is, how wide the road is, and the width of the road is not as wide as the route of our civil aviation air.

The wide road is a big step, and the road is wide and the sky is wide and flying forward.

Fly forward, fly forward, fly forward through the clouds and break the fog.

Show your grand plan and fly forward; Meet the challenge and fly forward;

Storm the waves, eliminate risks, fly forward across the century;

Forward, forward, forward!

The future is immeasurable, the years are safe, more brilliant, more brilliant,

Fly to that year of triumph!

——Excerpt from Chen Rongsen's allegro book "Pengcheng Wanli"

In 1995, at the Second National Civil Aviation Employees' Literary and Art Performance, an Allegro book reflecting the achievements of civil aviation reform and development, "Pengcheng Wanli", won a round of applause from the audience. After the performance, Chen Guangyi, then director general of the Civil Aviation Administration, took the performer's hand and expressed high praise. "Pengcheng Wanli" has played all over civil aviation and all over the country. Since then, the art form of Allegro has been widely circulated in civil aviation, and industry cultural publicity has found a new form.

Performing the allegro was Chen Rongsen, a trade union cadre of China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd., a veritable employee artist known as the "Red Propagandist". He devoted his life to allegro and to civil aviation. In the 50 years that accompanied Allegro, he grasped the pulse of the development of the times, praised the achievements of civil aviation reform and development, infected and inspired the people around him with art, and expressed his endless love for civil aviation and his incomparable awe for life with one work after another.

Learning Allegro never thought of giving up

Chen Rongsen was born in the late 1950s, and New China was full of wastes. When he was in elementary school, his father transferred from the army to Hubei Civil Aviation. At that time, civil aviation staff and their families were living in a compound not far from the airport.

"After school, we often run to the apron to watch the sunset, and then pick melons and fruits not far from the apron. Around the airport, each family occupies a piece of land, and melons, fruits and vegetables are planted arbitrarily. Chen Rongsen recalled his childhood life, and the smile on his face was very bright.

At that time, the children of civil aviation people were regarded as "children of the compound", and they were synonymous with knowledgeable people and integrity. In school, they can easily become "child kings" and are also favored by teachers. His father taught him that he could not have a sense of superiority, and that if he wanted to do something, he would have to suffer more. He did as his father said, going to school half an hour earlier than others every day, and often reciting the "Old Three Articles" to the old man in the communication room. A teacher saw that he was clever and clever, so he introduced him to the local Allegro artist Yu Wenguang Allegro. "To learn something, you must first choose what you like and are good at, and once you choose it, you can't give up." Chen Rongsen mentioned his father, full of gratitude and awe. He took his father's teachings to heart and never gave up since the day he learned allegro.

Chen Rongsen: A stage that never ends

In March 1976, Chen Rongsen's family (second from left in the back row) took a family portrait before moving with the army from Kaifeng, Henan province to Wuhan, Hubei Province. Previously, Chen Rongsen had lived for many years with his father (fourth from left in the back row) and mother (third from left in the back row) working in civil aviation at Tumenya Airport in Yichang, Hubei Province. There, he spent a wonderful time in the "civil aviation compound".

Allegro seems to pave the way for Chen Rongsen to grow into a talent. At the end of 1978, the spring breeze of reform and opening up blew all over the motherland. Chen Rongsen ended his school and life as a young man and became a recruit in the cooking class of the 98 Field Hospital of the First Army of the Nanjing Military Region. In the years of being a soldier, he got up the earliest and slept the latest every day, worked well and used his brain, and coupled with the "stunt" of allegro, the leader of the company was impressed by this young man from civil aviation.

After more than a year in the army, due to his outstanding literary and artistic talents, Chen Rongsen was selected and transferred to the performance team of the 83021 unit of the First Group Army, and later to the War and Fire Literary and Labor Troupe of the First Group Army, and began his career as a professional literary and artistic worker in the army.

He learned the performing arts in the army comprehensively, one move and one style, one board and one eye, from form to language, from demeanor to action, professional training has made his allegro performance form a unique style: as smooth as singing, with cross-talk humor and the performance of sketches.

Chen Rongsen's performance art and sublimation of his life realm occurred during the period of performance on the front line of Laoshan Mountain.

From 1985 to 1986, Chen Rongsen, as the head of the War and Fire Cultural and Labor Regiment of the First Army, led a team to the front line of Laoshan to perform condolences and performances. In two years, they traveled through hundreds of squads, platoons, and companies, even if there was only one soldier, and they risked stepping on the mines planted by the enemy to go to the performance. During this period, the War and Fire Literary and Labor Troupe collected the style on the ground and created a drama "They Go to the Smoke of Gunfire" that reflected the style of the soldiers of the troops participating in the war. This drama — in Chen Rongsen's words — is a re-sublimation of his understanding of life.

Chen Rongsen: A stage that never ends

In 1985, Chen Rongsen (front row middle) led a team to the Front Line of Laoshan to perform condolences as the head of the War and Fire Cultural and Labor Regiment of the First Group Army. Even after watching the show, the soldiers wore military uniforms and helmets, ready to go to war at any time.

The protagonist of the play is a 17-year-old warrior. Before enlisting, the young soldier was a school football player, and less than a month after he was recruited to the army, he was given the task of going to the battlefield. In an interview with Chen Rongsen and his colleagues, the little warrior expressed his infinite love for life. He said: "I will not fight, and tomorrow I will go to war and sacrifice my life for the country." I am a member of the People's Liberation Army, and the needs of the motherland are my direction of action!" Before going to the battlefield, he wrote a small poem to his mother. Within a few days, the little warrior died on the front line of the old mountain.

"Mother, mother, Mo sad, I am like a fallen leaf drifting to my hometown, you see the branch of the bird chirping, that is my life singing for you; Mom, mom, Mo sad, I am like a fallen leaf melting into the soil, you see that field seedlings are green, that is the green net woven by my youth; Mother, mother, Mo sad, I am like a falling leaf falling on the Yangtze River, you see the sparkling water of the river, that is the light radiated by my military merit badge. Mentioning the poem that he recited over and over again when he starred in the drama, more than 30 years later, Chen Rongsen still couldn't cry with one mouth.

"This experience and the eyes of the little soldiers on the battlefield made me unforgettable for the rest of my life, and it made me grateful for my life, grateful for life, grateful for the party and the motherland." Chen Rongsen kept looking down at the ground when he said this.

Chen Rongsen: A stage that never ends

In July 1986, Chen Rongsen's war-fighting cultural troupe successively reported and performed at the Jingxi Hotel in Beijing and the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The drama "They Go to the Smoke of Gunfire", created by the War And Fire Cultural and Labor Troupe with the theme of the style of the soldiers of the troops participating in the war, won high praise from the leaders. The picture shows that after the performance, Yang Dezhi, then chief of the general staff of the People's Liberation Army, shook hands with Chen Rongsen (first from the left) and other actors and took a group photo.

Dedicate artistic precipitation to civil aviation

In the army, Chen Rongsen won the title of "Red Propagandist". After coming to civil aviation, this title is even more worthy of its name. In 1994, Chen Rongsen, who was about to transfer to a local area, refused the invitation of Hubei Television Station and professional performance units and entered the trade union of Hubei Branch of China Southern Airlines.

"Civil aviation has nurtured me, and the army has educated me. In the year of establishment, I am determined to dedicate the rest of my youth, full of enthusiasm and artistic accumulation to civil aviation. This sounds a bit "revolutionary", but Chen Rongsen said that this is his real idea of choosing civil aviation. Asked why he was bent on returning to Civil Aviation, he said that he would never forget the fiery red sunset on the horizon.

Chen Rongsen's 18 years in the army coincided with the period of great development of China's reform and opening up, and the changes in civil aviation were changing with each passing day. When it comes to the development of civil aviation, Chen Rongsen is like a family treasure. He remembers that when he was 10 years old, his father was working at Tumenya Airport in Yichang, Hubei Province, and one night a rescue plane had to land to rescue a critically ill patient, but the airport did not have runway lights and did not have the conditions for night flight. Airport employees and their families volunteered to the runway and raised torches as runway lights to ensure a smooth landing.

"From having only a few Il and Y-5 aircraft in the 1960s, to the introduction of Airbus aircraft in the 1980s, to the increasingly important role of civil aviation in the country's economic development in the 1990s, I realized that the future of China's civil aviation will definitely get better and better, and I will be useful." Chen Rongsen said that he was still very firm when he chose.

Chen Rongsen's choice was right. Just as China's excellent traditional culture is the spiritual lifeblood of the Chinese nation, the role of positive literary and artistic works in shaping and publicizing the spirit of the industry is also irreplaceable.

In the second year of civil aviation work, the Civil Aviation Trade Union of China organized the second national civil aviation staff and art performance. China Southern Airlines selected Chen Rongsen to participate in the event. This is the first time that the classic Allegro book "Pengcheng Wanli", which reflects the development process of civil aviation reform, has appeared on the stage.

Receiving the task is exactly half a year away from the performance. Allegro is an art that closely follows the times, reflects life, or praises, or satirizes, or cooperates with the center to engage in propaganda, or entertains itself at festivals, and its greatest characteristic is to see the effect quickly. Chen Rongsen wanted to create an Allegro paragraph that reflected the rapid and healthy development of civil aviation since the reform and opening up. Almost every day, he went to the home of Mr. Xia Yutian, then vice president of the China Qu Artists Association and vice chairman of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature, to discuss his creations, drink pot after pot of tea, and open pack after pack of cigarettes. The change of rhyme feet, the use of contrasting techniques, the number of times the mouth appears, etc., they sometimes cut a detail in one night. As the pioneer of the new cross-talk of the praise type, Mr. Xia Yutian has a profound influence on Chen Rongsen's creation of the praise type Allegro book.

Chen Rongsen: A stage that never ends

In 1995, the Civil Aviation Trade Union of China organized the Second National Civil Aviation Workers' Literary and Art Performance, and Chen Rongsen took the stage for the first time to perform the Allegro book "Pengcheng Wanli", which reflected the achievements of civil aviation reform and development.

In 1996, Chen Rongsen took this work and represented civil aviation in the National Workers' Literary and Art Performance organized by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and won the first prize. In the same year, this work won the first prize in the first Allegro and Fast Book TV Performance Competition in China. "While good works are infectious, they also have an enduring charm." Chen Rongsen said. In 2011, in the CCTV "Heart to Heart" Art Troupe's condolence performance in civil aviation, Chen Rongsen's allegro book "Pengcheng Wanli" was still well received. Since then, a number of works praising the theme of civil aviation reform and development have been continuously created, such as the Allegro book "The Right Route", which won the first prize of the Second Allegro and Fast Book TELEVISION Performance Competition in China.

Housekeeping skills and "cross-border" skills

"One of China Southern's core values is customer first." "We are an air transport enterprise, thousands of routes, thousands of roads, our products are services. This service includes not only passengers and cargo owners, but also shareholders, employees and the government. In the current market-oriented situation, the meaning of 'customer' is expanding, perhaps an email, a text message, a phone call, all of which require our warm service is priceless. In 2010, Chen Rongsen created the counterpart Allegro "Core Values of China Southern Airlines", which described the core values of China Southern Airlines clearly and interestingly in concise, rhythmic and tight-paced language.

In civil aviation, Chen Rongsen brought out a group of Allegro enthusiasts, many of whom have already performed on stage. In recent years, many civil aviation units have asked him to conduct art direction. For the construction of the staff culture, he is sweet in his heart. In China Southern Airlines, in addition to the counterpart Allegro, Chen Rongsen also took his apprentices to perform the three-person Allegro "Serving the People, Creating Excellence first" and "Chinese Dream Labor Beauty" and so on. In the allegro of "Core Values of China Southern Airlines", Chen Rongsen added the comic content of cross-talk and the performance form of the sketch to the traditional allegro, which is witty and humorous, so that everyone can remember the essence of the core values of China Southern Airlines in laughter. He played the role of a praiser, did not talk much, achieved the purpose of highlighting the newcomer, and also let his acting skills be fully revealed.

Allegro is Chen Rongsen's housekeeping skill, but in the more than ten years of the army's cultural and industrial corps, he has mastered the skill of "cross-border".

In 2008, Chen Rongsen was transferred to the trade union of China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd. by the Talent Program of China Southern Airlines. Since then, the company's annual staff art performances have been fully responsible for Chen Rongsen. At the 2018 China Southern Airlines Employees' Cultural and Art Show, near the end, the picture of the Monument to the People's Heroes suddenly appeared on the big screen. "Today's party is a special party lesson given to us by the party group of China Southern Airlines Group. Please stand up, and the members of the Communist Party of China solemnly raise their right hands to relive the oath of joining the party. The host Chen Rongsen's thick baritone voice was very appealing on the stage.

In front of and behind the scenes, everyone stood up, and party members solemnly raised their right hands..." This evening party was held closely around the study of the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Party, and it is a good way to let party members relive the oath of joining the party in this way, and it also set off an upsurge of in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Party." Chen Rongsen said.

Chen Rongsen: A stage that never ends

In December 2006, the first China Civil Aviation Flight Attendant Vocational Skills Competition was held, co-sponsored by the Civil Aviation Trade Union of China and the Department of Personnel Science and Education of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Under the guidance of the Civil Aviation Trade Union of China, Chen Rongsen created the corresponding Allegro "New Chapter of the Skills Competition Score" for the competition, and brought his apprentice, Long Chengming, a flight attendant of China Southern Airlines Hubei Branch, to perform on stage. In the civil aviation work for more than 20 years, Chen Rongsen has trained a group of Allegro enthusiasts for many units of civil aviation, many of which have become the backbone of the literary and artistic propaganda of the unit.

Civil aviation is a rich soil for Chen Rongsen's artistic creation, and it has also brought him supreme spiritual satisfaction. In more than 20 years of civil aviation work, Chen Rongsen's footprints have traveled to every province of the motherland, and condolence performances and lecture tour reports have sent laughter to civil aviation people and spiritual motivation.

In 2005, the Civil Aviation Trade Union of China organized a speech contest, and Chen Rongsen won the first prize for "The Man Who Lifted the Silver Swallow", which reflected the style of the aircraft maintenance engineer. Subsequently, the winning team went to civil aviation in various places, especially in remote mountainous areas and remote stations to report and give speeches.

In Xinjiang, as soon as the propaganda group arrived, the county magistrate took their hands and excitedly said, "Thank you civil aviation!" It is precisely because civil aviation has built a dirt runway here, which has narrowed the distance between the border town of the motherland and the capital Beijing; It is because of this runway that the economic and social development of the end has advanced for 20 years. "At that time, there were only 1 flight a week at the end, and there were only more than 20 people in and out. At that moment, Chen Rongsen truly felt the pride of being a civil aviation person.

To Yan'an to offer condolences, the spirit of the old revolutionary area infected Chen Rongsen. He donated 1,000 yuan to a student at Nanniwan Primary School through Yan'an Station. Although the two had never met, the student expressed his gratitude to Chen Rongsen and his yearning for civil aviation in many letters.

In half a year, Chen Rongsen will retire. But he said that he would not withdraw from the stage of civil aviation, as long as there is a need, his allegro can sound at any time; He will not leave the embrace of civil aviation, and its development and growth will always be a chapter of his praise.

Dream blue sky

My colleagues around me say that I am a "red propagandist" and I feel very honored to be able to catch up with the great development of civil aviation. Using the Allegro in my hand to publicize, praise civil aviation, and praise this great era, I found the value of life. My growth is almost synchronized with the development of China's civil aviation, and I have witnessed the development of China's civil aviation from small to large, from weak to strong. I really hope that we will realize the dream of a strong civil aviation country at an early date, and the aircraft of China's civil aviation can fly to all parts of the world at any time. I am willing to live her life and praise her endlessly!

——Chen Rongsen
