Ayer's Logical Verification of Thinking

Alfred Ayer proposed the principle of verification, which distinguishes meaningful discourse from nonsensical discourse. He believes that only empirically verifiable statements are meaningful. However, this causes the language of science to become meaningless, as most statements cannot be verified by observation and evidence. Therefore, he proposed the principle of weak verification, which recognizes that a statement can be considered meaningful even if it cannot be actually verified. However, this principle also excludes meaningful statements of subatomic science, history, and human emotions.
