October 2 of each year is a national holiday in India and a day of remembrance for the International Non-Violent Non-Cooperation Movement, and the reason why there is such a day is because of one person. This man is Gandhi, a man who must be remembered when he mentions the national liberation of India, and this day is his birthday. Gandhi aroused the awakening of the people in his time, won the respect of the whole nation, and was worshipped as a god-like man in modern India.

Even after his death, millions of people went on their own, and many women jumped into the fire and voluntarily died. It has to be said that Gandhi was a legendary man, born on October 2, 1869, whose full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. When Gandhi was born, India was still trapped in the shackles of British colonization and could not get out. However, his family was a devout Hindu family of benevolence, non-killing, vegetarianism, and asceticism, which gave Gandhi a great influence, and he was later raised to conform.

In 1888, he risked his expulsion from his racial identity to study in London. After completing his studies, he worked as a lawyer in Mumbai for a period of time, and as a result, he was screwed up by stage fright for the first time and experienced setbacks. Half a year later, he had to return to his hometown, but unexpectedly received a case from an Indian from South Africa, and Gandhi did not hesitate to go. In South Africa or in Britain before that, he saw colonialism in Western civilization, and he saw with his own eyes the suffering of his fellow citizens.

He also experienced first-hand the taste of national self-esteem being trampled, and this time the trip to South Africa was even worse, so Gandhi embarked on the road of leading the South African Indians in the fight against racial discrimination. In fact, at the beginning Gandhi's impression of Western civilization was very good, and he even fell at its feet because of his deep inferiority, but the disaster suffered by the country pulled him back to reality. It is probably for this reason that Gandhi still has illusions about the British Empire in his mind.

In 1916 he supported the war that was underway, hoping to buy British favors and give India autonomy. In 1919, in protest against the reactionary Rollat Law, Gandhi again launched a nonviolent resistance movement, but still tried to cooperate with the government. The result is that fantasy is fantasy after all, and this time, the British performance completely breaks this illusion. But he remained independent and fought for it until he was assassinated by Hindu diehards on January 30, 1948.

Whether non-violent or uncooperative is correct or not, it is true that he has had a huge impact on India, at least in preparation for the final and complete independence of India. For the people of India, Gandhi gave not only independence, freedom and democracy, but also faith. So he was revered as a mahatma, meaning a saint and a hero, and was considered a god-like man. In that muddy British colony, Gandhi was like a rare light that naturally became their faith.

The sudden disappearance of faith was unacceptable to many Indians at that time, and it is no wonder that many Indians at his funeral went out of the ordinary. Millions of people spontaneously sent him off with great sadness, and the atmosphere of sadness enveloped the land, and some people cried. There were also many women who jumped into the fire while he was cremated and volunteered to be buried for him. From here, it can be seen that he influenced that generation of Indians, even making them pay for their lives.
