Usually use 65MN spring steel or 70# carbon steel, 3Cr13, but also stainless steel SUS304 or SUS316, 65Mn or some other low carbon steel, like Q235, Q195 and so on.
The spring washer device is placed underneath the nut to prevent the nut from loosening. It is stated in the national standards. The hexagonal slotted nut is specially used with the bolt with a hole at the end of the screw, so as to insert the cotter pin into the hole of the screw from the groove of the nut to prevent the nut from automatically loosening, and is mainly used in the occasion of vibration load or alternating load.
