Explore the mysteries of the soul and mind
What is the soul? This question has plagued mankind since ancient times. Some people believe that the soul is an abstract metaphor that represents an individual's personality, thoughts, and ways of thinking, while the brain carries all of a person's actions and decisions. However, despite the detailed study of the brain, scientists have not been able to find connections between neurons, let alone capture the essence of "ideas". Therefore, the formation of the soul and mind remains an unsolved mystery.
Some people are convinced of the existence of the soul and try to prove its authenticity by weighing one's soul. The problem, however, is that even though scientists can magnify the brain thousands of times, they still can't find the connections between neurons, let alone the "ideas" in them.
Over the past three decades, some scientists have conducted bold experiments. In 1987, Julián Malthus, a psychologist in Mexico, claimed to have seen a wisp of white mist rise from a patient when he announced his death after resuscitation failed. Psychologists believe that this white mass may be the so-called soul. To verify whether the soul actually existed, Malthus, along with seven other experts in the field of soulology, including doctors, psychologists, and scientists, formed a research team and invented a "soul tester" to measure the change in the deceased's weight before death.
In the fall of 1996, the research team took the weights of 100 deceased people. The results showed that regardless of whether the deceased were obese or slim during their lifetime, they lost 35 grams of weight after death. Some scholars believe that this 35-gram weight loss represents the weight of the soul. However, members of the research team have come up with a different explanation, arguing that after death, water and gas in the body escape, leading to weight loss. They believe that a lightening of 35 grams does not prove the existence of a soul.
There is also an opinion that the soul is like a shadow, having no actual quality and cannot be seen or touched, but we can feel its presence. After human death, weight loss may be related to cellular water loss, not necessarily the weight of the soul.
Although scientists are still debating the nature and existence of the soul, there is still no clear answer to this question. The relationship between the soul and the mind, and how they are formed, remains an esoteric mystery. Perhaps, as science continues to advance, one day we will be able to unravel this mystery and gain a deeper understanding of the mysteries of the human heart.
