"I have a strong old complex." During the interview, Huang Wei kept repeating this sentence.

As the host of the "Sunset Red" column of the Central Radio and Television Corporation, she has been with the elderly for more than 20 years, and the filial piety of respecting the elderly has long penetrated into her bones.

Old people also like Huang Wei. Not only because of hosting the program, but also her image of Deng Yingchao, a proletarian revolutionary of the older generation in countless film and television dramas, is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. That's another "profession" of Huang Wei, a special actor. "Sometimes when old people see me, they can't help but pounce on me." Huang Wei said with a smile.

Huang Wei grew up in a red family, and her grandfather Huang Shifu was a revolutionary martyr of our party, and her red blood and good family style have always infected and influenced her.

"'Moss flowers are as small as rice, and they also learn to bloom peonies' is the foundation of the Huang family's life." Huang Wei's father's earnest teaching to Huang Wei and the belief that he should "do good things for a lifetime" have always been remembered by Huang Wei.

Nowadays, The elderly population over the age of 60 in China has reached 264 million, and the "silver-haired group" has gradually become a huge group that cannot be ignored.

"The market generally believes that the consumption power of the elderly is not high, so social and cultural entertainment services for 'silver-haired groups' are relatively scarce." Huang Wei admits that this is far from meeting the needs of the elderly.

The idea of creating an exclusive stage for the elderly quietly sprouted in her mind.

The "Singing of The Ageing • National Senior Chorus Competition" came into being. After two years of meticulous preparation, in June 2020, 32 elderly choirs from all over the country took to the CCTV stage, showing the positive, optimistic and upward spirit of The Elderly in China in the new era through professional competitions and emotional storytelling.

"For the elderly, singing is the first health exercise, the elderly get together to sing happily, will not be lonely but also need each other." 」 Huang Wei talked about the original intention of the program creation.

It is not easy to conceive a variety show with the elderly as the main body. Huang Wei acted as an independent producer for the first time, contracting a national competition, interviewing and interacting with thousands of elderly people during the production process, and paying special attention to their physical condition.

"Spiritual power is a perpetual motion machine that overcomes difficulties." Huang Wei said that in the singing of the elderly choir, there is infinite warmth for the glory years, enthusiasm for the struggle of hard work and entrepreneurship, and sincere love for the great motherland. Coupled with more than 20 years of experience in shaping the glorious image of Comrade Deng Yingchao on the silver screen, these spiritual forces gave me confidence.

An elderly choir from a remote county in Xinjiang traveled nearly 4,000 kilometers to Beijing. It was nearly midnight, and the old people did not hesitate to work hard, regardless of their advanced age, went straight to Tiananmen Square and excitedly sang "I Love Beijing Tiananmen" and "Singing the Motherland" in the square.

"They said they had never been to Beijing in their lives and dreamed of standing in front of Tiananmen Square." Now that the dream has come true, it is worth cherishing for a lifetime. Huang Wei said emotionally.

From "Sunset Red" to "Singing for The Age", Huang Wei has always used the "screen" to serve the elderly and guide the whole society to pay attention to the elderly and care for the elderly.

Outside of work, Huang Wei stepped out of the screen, continued the spiritual energy drawn from the program into daily life, came to the elderly, and implemented the care.

Before visiting the nursing homes in remote mountainous areas every time, Huang Wei should understand the number of elderly people in the nursing homes in advance, the basic situation, etc., and purchase food and daily necessities that can meet their actual needs.

"What the elderly need most is companionship, and filial piety cannot wait." In this regard, Huang Wei was deeply touched.

After her father was paralyzed by stroke, Huang Wei waited in front of the bed, fed and washed, massaged and accompanied, for decades as a day, accompanied by shadows; her father died, her mother suffered from "mourning syndrome", in order to make her mother happy, Huang Wei accompanied her mother throughout the mountains and rivers of the motherland, and a photo froze the warm time she and her mother accompanied.

"Time flies, and I talk to my mother every day, which I cherish." Huang Wei lamented that the longest confession of affection is companionship, and the traditional family virtues of the Chinese nation need to be "passed on from generation to generation".

"Filial piety" can only "family peace". No matter how the times change, respecting the elderly and fulfilling filial piety will always be a bright pearl shining with the light of human morality.

"Do our best to integrate respect for the elderly and filial piety into daily life, so that 'the sunset is infinitely better.'" Huang Wei left a sincere hope that the pace of serving the elderly would never stop.
