The world is undergoing strange changes all the time, and all I can do is to read, and only reading can make my empty shell fill up again and move forward.
When I read the article "The Sorrow and Joy of the Scholar couple" in the second volume of the "Reading History", I was deeply moved by the story of Lu Kanru and Feng Yuanjun's sadness and joy, how enviable they began to live happily with their husbands and wives, they were the role models of the young students of the "May Fourth New Culture Movement", and as a result, this happy life lasted only more than twenty years. How much they loved each other when they first met, no matter how many difficulties and obstacles they had to be together, and when they were together, Japan surrendered, China was liberated, and the anti-rightist movement that caught them off guard separated them, the husband openly confessed his guilt, and the wife openly criticized her husband. In Chen Kaige's thin autobiography, I remember that in that special era, he had personally beaten his father, and that fierce slap made him unforgettable and regretful for the rest of his life. In the movie "Farewell to the Overlord" directed by him, when Duan Xiaolou, played by Zhang Fengyi, openly scolded his wife Ju Xian as a prostitute and a bitch, he did not love her at all, how sad and desperate his wife was, so she went home and dressed up and chose to hang herself.
I think that in that era, whether it is a beater or a beater, in this life, this brand may never be erased again, it will always follow you, until you grow old, until you die. Perhaps, everyone in that era was a walking corpse, his thoughts were not under his control, what others said was what he wanted, and if he did not do it, he would isolate you and criticize you. Everyone is at risk, like a bird of terror, afraid and afraid, maybe one day you will be pulled to be criticized, tortured, beaten, ignorant people watching the hilarity, and the knowers choosing silence. Fortunately, there were Deng Xiaoping and other leaders who put things right and rehabilitated those who had been wronged for no reason, those who were talented returned to their places, and social order returned to normal.
Who are Lu Kanru and Feng Yuanjun? If we mention Qian Zhongshu and Yang Dai, Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin, Lu Xun and Xu Guangping, some famous couples, I think we will definitely be familiar with them. Maybe most people don't know them as lonely as I do, but that's their business. Everyone has their own way of telling stories, and I tell them the way I do, one is to learn, the second is to enhance memory, and the third is to exercise my writing level. In this way, I did not read this article in vain.
Referring to Feng Yuanjun (1900-1974), we have to mention Feng Youlan (1895-1990), because Feng Youlan was Feng Yuanjun's eldest brother, and Feng Yuanjun was Feng Youlan's younger sister. Feng Youlan is four years younger than Hu Shi, all the same famous, are under the famous American philosopher John Dewey, the difference is that Feng Youlan is a doctor of philosophy at Columbia University, and Hu Shi also received a doctorate in philosophy in the United States, and obtained thirty-five doctorates in his lifetime. How could this big brother who loved a doctorate agree that Lu Kanru (1903-1978), who was still a college student of peking university Chinese at that time, be his brother-in-law, not to mention that Feng Yuanjun was already a graduate student at the Institute of Chinese Studies of Peking University at that time. Therefore, when Feng Youlan learned that his little sister and Lu Kanru had established a love relationship, they obstructed in every way and vigorously opposed it. In the end, they had to move the teacher Hu Shi out, and Feng Youlan agreed to the interaction between Xiaomei and Lu Kanru, and promised to do her mother's work in front of Hu Shi.
Feng Yuanjun was born in 1900 in a farming family in Tanghe County, Henan Province, three years older than Lu Kanru, who was born in 1903 in Haimen Hall, Jiangsu Province (now Haimen District, Nantong City) in a patriotic gentleman's home. Feng Yuanjun learned ancient Chinese arithmetic writing and composition with his two brothers since he was a child, and at the age of eleven or twelve, he was able to recite poems and fill in words with the name of a little talented woman, and at the age of 23, he began to create novels, taking Ms. Gan as his pen name, and published novels such as "Volume Shi", "Robbery of Ashes", "Spring Traces", etc., the former is her famous work, and the latter is said to be a love letter she wrote to Lu Kanru.
Their acquaintance was after a lecture at Peking University Hu Shi, they met unexpectedly, met and hated each other, and liked each other. Soon, they established a romantic relationship, but unexpectedly met with strong opposition from the eldest brother Feng Youlan, and Hu Shi's balance finally allowed the bi couple to complete their marriage in Shanghai in 1929. According to Lu Kanru's recollection in his later years, he said that after they got married, they made a five-year contract, and when they reached 10,000 silver yuan, they were admitted to the doctoral program of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Paris.
This proved to be the case, and in 1935 they both received doctorates in literature from the University of Paris, and upon their return they began teaching at universities. However, the anti-rightist movement came, and Lu Kanru, who had been the vice president of Shandong University since 1951, openly confessed his guilt at the congress, admitting that he had committed a major crime against the party and socialism, and Feng Yuanjun, as a wife, criticized her husband Lu Kanru's unforgivable crimes at the congress, and as his wife, she felt very sad.
Until his death, because Feng Yuanjun was buried in the Revolutionary Mausoleum of Hero Mountain in Jinan Province because Feng Yuanjun was not exempted from the post of vice president of Shandong University (1963), Lu Kanru was dismissed from the post of vice president of Shandong University and demoted to a university lecturer of the ninth level of higher education and buried in his hometown Haimen. Once such an enviable pair of gods and immortals, but now they can't share the same cave, which is sentimental, and their thoughts will never end, becoming eternal.
