It is reported that due to the outstanding sales of the brand's CX-90 and CX-60 SUVs, Mazda will once again have the ability to develop a new generation of Mazda6 sedan, and the new car is expected to debut in the second half of 2024 or 2025 at the earliest. At the same time, the new car is also expected to start production in China by Changan Mazda in the same year, and the main competitors in the same class include Toyota Camry, Nissan Teana, Volkswagen Passat and Honda Accord.

As can be seen from the previously released exterior renderings, the new generation Mazda6 model is equipped with a large-size blackened mesh grille at the head, a new shape of LED headlight clusters on the sides, and a metal U-shaped trim strip underneath. The C-pillar position of the body adopts a sliding back sports coupe design style, and the hidden exhaust layout may be selected below, which is also more sporty than the Toyota Camry model.

In terms of power, the all-new Mazda6 model will be front-mounted and rear-drive, and will be equipped with a 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid engine, a 2.5T turbocharged engine, and a 3.3T inline-six turbocharged engine (ICE hybrid or PHEV plug-in hybrid system), which is mated to an 8-speed manual automatic transmission, and some models will also be equipped with an all-wheel drive system.
