For many years, the mainland has always adopted the method of "peaceful settlement" on the Taiwan issue, but this method is not accepted by all Taiwanese, and people with intentions always want to challenge the bottom line of the mainland and try to get the mainland to take the second article.
"Settlement by force" is the simplest and most brutal way, and some people support it in the mainland Taiwan region. Qiu Yi, who was named the grandfather of Taiwan's exposing abuses, said in 2021 that the grand strategy of cross-strait reunification can first pave the way for Zhitong, begin with military unification, and end with peace reunification.
Wu Tong and HeTong are easy to understand, what is going on with Zhitong?
Zhi Tong is to attack the other side "invisibly" through public opinion, espionage, psychology, attrition, economy, etc., in preparation for the reunification of force. When the other party is almost consumed, you can unify by force, and after beating down, sit down on the table and negotiate and discuss how to go in the future.
Qiu Yi once said that after Taiwan's return to the mainland, there are three aspects in which the "two systems" cannot be implemented. What are the three aspects?
The first: education
People may sometimes wonder why Taiwanese can always get some history wrong, especially the modern history of the mainland. In fact, it has a lot to do with education in Taiwan.
Taiwan has always been very unreasonable about the mainland's reunification policy, but has been close to the United States and Japan and other countries; in Taiwan textbooks, there is little mention of the history of the mainland, and even if it is mentioned, some of it has been "adapted".
Devaluing the image of the mainland and raising the image of Western countries such as Japan and the United States will allow the Taiwanese to be exposed to the wrong education from an early age and have a natural favorable impression of the great powers that invaded the mainland.
However, most of the people in Taiwan do not know that the knowledge they have learned has been "adapted", and many times, they will make wrong remarks, of course, some people say it on purpose, and this kind of deliberately smearing the mainland is "their heart is reprehensible."
In the past, when Hong Kong returned to the motherland, the mainland implemented the "one country, two systems" policy, which preserved Hong Kong's economic, political and cultural systems to the greatest extent, which made the original Hong Kong teaching materials have always been used, and the theories in the teaching materials have also been used.
It exploited loopholes for some lawbreakers and people with intentions, fanned the flames of people with different intentions, and caused the riot at the University of Hong Kong at that time.
Qiu Yi believes that after Taiwan's return to the motherland, it is necessary to crack down education, crack down harshly on those "adapted" teaching materials, and prevent these teaching materials from entering the market and classrooms.
The education of Taiwan students should also be strictly grasped, and the teaching materials and books that correctly write history should be put into the classroom, so that Taiwan students can understand the real history, learn Chinese culture, and have a sense of belonging from the bottom of their hearts.
The second: the management of the army
Qiu Yi raised this point because some Taiwanese had proposed that the existing army would not be disbanded after Taiwan's return.
At the beginning, when the mainland's military strength was inferior to that of Britain and other Western countries, the mainland refused to give an inch and resolutely refused to allow the British army to remain in Hong Kong, not to mention that now that the time has come for the mainland's military strength and comprehensive national strength to be greatly enhanced, it is absolutely impossible for Taiwan to retain its existing military establishment.
Some people in Taiwan also echoed this proposal, and demanded that the mainland should give Taiwan's armed forces the latest weapons and equipment every year so that their armed forces can be equipped.
This abacus is playing too loudly, asking the mainland's weapons to equip the local army, the true intentions of the person who proposed this idea have been completely exposed, isn't this to strengthen himself and want to fight back?
Everyone knows exactly what the main role of Taiwan's existing military is for.
Of course, Qiu Yi did not come up with this proposal out of thin air, and there is a reliable historical basis.
As early as the last century, mainland leaders held many discussions on how to recover Taiwan, and the loudest call was for a "peaceful negotiation" solution.
In 1993, senior mainland leaders published a "Message to Taiwan Compatriots," in which they wrote that as long as it is within the framework of the "one-China" principle, the mainland will not send troops and administrative personnel to Taiwan to garrison, and any problems in Taiwan can be resolved through negotiation.
This "Message to Taiwan Compatriots" has been published for seven consecutive years, but the Taiwan authorities have always refused to hold peace talks on the issue of reunification, and have even caused various problems such as "pro-American" and "Taiwan independence."
The mainland has been waiting for Taiwan to "get lost," but the actual situation is not very optimistic; the Taiwan authorities do not understand the mainland's painstaking efforts, and they are still riding the wrong road.
In 2022, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council released a new white paper on Taiwan, which deleted the mainland's commitment not to send troops to Taiwan.
This is also the Taiwan authorities' own fault, and they did not cherish it well when they gave the opportunity for peace talks, and now they have the advantage of not mentioning conditions, and they want to put forward conditions again.
Third: diplomacy
The mainland has a great deal of tolerance for some of Taiwan's practices, and the figure of Taiwan's representative can also be seen in some international organizations and institutions, and this is the most appropriate arrangement the mainland has made for the Taiwan region.
However, Taiwan is not satisfied, and still wants a bigger platform and wants to sit on the status of a "country", which touches the bottom line of the mainland. The premise for the mainland to allow Taiwan to participate in some organizations is that it must adhere to the "one-China" principle.
Recently, the Taiwan authorities have again clamored to join the United Nations, and the United States is also helping, but this obviously violates the "one-China" principle and cannot succeed.
Some people in Taiwan have suggested that if Taiwan returns to the motherland, then Taiwan's diplomatic power will still belong to Taiwan. Qiu Yi believes that diplomacy refers to between countries, not between countries and regions, so it must be taken back.
Taiwan has no position to talk about diplomacy in the international community, Taiwan is only a province of China, and it is impossible to talk about diplomacy with foreign countries, and there is no such precedent.
Qiu Yi has always been committed to exposing the shortcomings of the Taiwan authorities, which has also caused him a lot of trouble.
For now, the Taiwan authorities should stop thinking about unrealistic things, nor mention any more unattainable demands, and stop following the United States and other Western countries in making mistakes again and again, and it is better to take the initiative to return to the embrace of the motherland as soon as possible.
