The Ukrainian army has always faced a shortage of heavy weapons, and even if they receive support from the West and a lot of loot, they will not be able to quickly improve the situation. However, as the war situation changed, the situation in Ukraine gradually improved. NATO provided substantial military assistance, including some Soviet-style weapons and ammunition, which could not be specified. At the same time, the logistical supply of the Russian army was destroyed. Now the difference in daily shell consumption between the Ukrainian and Russian armies is not large.
Nevertheless, the Ukrainian army needs to make the most of all its resources in comparison with Russia. In addition to acquiring advanced military equipment from the West, they are also trying to maximize the effectiveness of Soviet-style weapons, including various modifications. Recently, the Ukrainian military released videos showing that they assembled classic MT-LB armored vehicles and various anti-tank guns into various DIY versions of the gun. Even the ancient D44 85-mm anti-tank gun was installed on the MT-LB armored vehicle. The MT-LB armored car is a classic Soviet equipment that, despite its limited protection, is easy to modify. It was used not only to carry infantry and towed artillery, but also as a chassis for several Soviet weapons systems, including the Type 2S1 122-mm self-propelled howitzer, etc. The Ukrainian army also saw the potential for the modification of the MT-LB armored vehicles, which, although relatively rudimentary, significantly increased mobility, which is very important in the fierce Ukrainian battlefield.
As for the MT-12 "Light Sword" 100mm towed anti-tank gun, it is a Soviet smoothbore anti-tank gun that entered service in the 70s of the last century and later participated in the Chechen war. Now both Ukraine and Russia are massively armed with this artillery. Although it is somewhat reluctant to be used in anti-tank warfare and is difficult to launch even with anti-tank missiles, it is mostly used against stationary targets or as fire support. It has a maximum range of 15 km, and the Ukrainian army even uses "light swords" to defeat Russian troops. In conclusion, the combination of the MT-LB armored vehicle and the "Light Sword" anti-tank gun is relatively professional, since both weapons are classics.
In addition, the Ukrainian army is equipped with something that should not appear on the battlefield, which is difficult to describe as a weapon. Recently, a wealthy man donated an extended limousine to the famous Ukrainian "Kraken" special forces and converted it into a tactical extended limousine. While it's not clear if the car is bulletproof, it's certainly not up to the job off-road. Most likely, the car will be used only for recruiting new members and other promotional activities.
The Kraken special forces, known for their brutal fighting style, have repeatedly "wiped out" the Russian army. Although they are also part of the Ukrainian army, they do not have priority in obtaining advanced equipment, they can only use existing weapons or simply take it from the Russian army. Nevertheless, their combat effectiveness is recognized by the Russian army, which also reflects the hatred of the Russian army towards them.
