Recently, under the guidance of Hongkou District Science and Technology Association, the "Generative Artificial Intelligence" workshop held by DIISx New Workshop Joint Practice Workshop kicked off at Shanghai Innovation and Creative Design Institute. This event is also one of the series of science popularization activities in Hongkou District Science Month in 2023.
AIGC is a rapidly rising artificial intelligence application field in recent years, which is based on deep learning and natural language processing technology, aiming to use computer models to generate high-quality text, audio and image content, add text descriptions to videos, combine semantic context to generate pictures, etc., with unlimited broad application scenarios.
The event consisted of two parts: AIGC sharing and AIGC workshop. At the beginning of the event, Rong Hao, the champion of the THACK Geek Competition of Fudan University's innovative course tutor, started from the principle of AIGC, introduced how AIGC achieves content generation through neural network structure and training algorithm, and reviewed the development process of AIGC, so that everyone has a deeper understanding of the progress of AIGC technology and its application in different fields.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, AIGC practitioners in the industry were specially invited to share their application experience. Miao Zhuyu, founder of SHOWLAB, new media artist and AIGC application expert, told the participants of the event through the narration of actual cases, so that the participants of the event could understand the rich application scenarios of AIGC.
"From PGC to UGC to today's AIGC, whoever masters artificial intelligence will grasp the future," Xiao Chen, a college student interested in artificial intelligence, told reporters, "This event provides a unique opportunity to learn more about AIGC and communicate with professionals in the field." After the sharing, the two-hour AIGC workshop officially began. Keynote speaker Heinrich Tremblay is a machine learning engineer at a leading AIGC startup, a data science instructor at Le Wagon, and an expert in computer vision, image and video generation, and 3D reconstruction.
Heinrich Tremblay has been in China for 7 years, and he used a combination of Chinese and English to take everyone to code on the spot, and get started with Midjourney, Jupyter Notebook, HuggingFace pre-training model and SDXL, allowing participants to experience the charm of AIGC.
According to reports, the main body behind the new workshop is a Hongkou enterprise, as the first maker space in China, through the community platform to provide a space to share knowledge and skills, share tools, and do things together, witnessing the development of countless maker projects from 0 to 1, and always support programming, open source hardware, Internet of Things, art and technology integration innovation and various workshops. Located on the first floor of Shanghai Innovation and Creative Design Institute, the DIISx New Workshop Joint Practice Workshop will hold regular workshops and scientific and technological innovation activities in the future, inviting senior makers from various countries to share projects, conduct maker roundtable dialogues and cross-border cooperation.
