Over the years, many domestic compatriots have come to know this strange country in the southern hemisphere through my "Australian Dream", and have seen a different world in the book - a dream home in the eyes of Chinese people who come to Australian land with dreams... Here, I will serialize my "Australian Dream" and share with you my entrepreneurial story of more than 30 years in Australia!

Chapter 39 Epilogue – My New Australian Dream!

Fast forward to 2005. 2005 was my eighteenth year in Australia. On May 1, 2005 at 6 p.m., I came to the place where my Australian dream began.
Elwood – a bay five kilometres southeast of Melbourne.
Still that twilight, still that season, still that reef, still that frightening silence. I looked at the South Pacific as far away as I did then, and it was still like that: the water and the sky were colored, the sunset was sinking tiredly, and a golden thread was drawn at the junction of water and sky... Naturally, I saw the tall buildings of Melbourne standing like a forest... The only difference is that my heart is no longer lonely. This is not only because I have countless assets behind me, but also because I have already experienced countless storms.
Eighteen years, how many eighteen years can there be in life? However, even I did not expect that I had a new dream. I suddenly understood that I was a person who always had a dream. In fact, dreams are the most solid pillars that support my life. It was already dark, but above melbourne's city centre, the canopy was illuminated by lights as if it had been a hole in the sky.
The buildings on the ground are lit like a race to light up all the lights, and by the light from each window, you can distinguish the different styles of each building. Some buildings are still lit up with colorful neon lights, like women with makeup, more and more plump.
The headlights on the viaduct are lined up in a string, moving like a snake. Melbourne's sleepless nights have arrived. A gust of wind blew, stirred the ends of my hair, and also stirred my heart...
Suddenly a small black dot jumped into my eyes.
Be a surfer!
My heart stirred again.
Still a fourteen or fifteen-year-old.
A huge wave came, he jumped on the surfboard and rushed to the tip of the wave; he just stood on the top of the wave and fell down, and was engulfed by the huge wave... After a while, he got up from the water again, pushed the surfboard, and slid into the depths of the sea... Another huge wave came and he jumped on the surfboard again...
What a familiar figure, how familiar the action, how familiar the process!
I walked down the reef. I walked over to the kid who was surfing. I'm excited. I'm going to tell him that my new Australian dream has begun again...
"Australian Dream" manuscript sealed, that night, I did not sleep, my heart surging in the next 18 years, the start of my new Australian dream...
In the early morning of October 6, I took an Air China flight via Sydney and flew to Shanghai.
At noon on October 7, I arrived in Suzhou by car. Perhaps because of the special significance of this trip, the mood is completely different from the previous years of traveling to Suzhou, and it is difficult to suppress the excitement and excitement.
The taxi drove me to a traditional Suzhou Garden City architectural community. Just wanted to walk into the community to visit, the doorman's outstretched hand blocked the way. Although I explained that I entered the community only because of the visit before buying a house, the doorman looked me up and down and insisted on not letting go. If you want to see the house, you must go to the sales department to be accompanied by a special person to visit. I appreciated the doorman's "conscientious" style, so I would not argue.
In the sales center, a sales lady received me, she aimed at me out of the corner of her eye, a plain and slightly dusty dress, very reluctantly with the information to come to me, casually asked: "Our parking space is more nervous, where is your car parked?" "I didn't drive, I came by taxi." The young lady only promised to deal with me as if, and led me to the community.
I don't mind the attitude of Miss, with my dress, I don't look like a grandfather who can withstand millions of villas. Enjoy the pavilions, brick and tile walls, small bridges and flowing water, winding corridors in the community, and a quaint and poetic garden. The boss who developed this community once had a relationship with me and was a cultural person. When we first met, I was like meeting a confidant, and we talked very happily.
The only deficiency in the garden is the construction of the houses. The house is made of reinforced concrete, as if it were a modern bunker, and I secretly regret it: how beautiful it would be if it were built with elegant and simple brick and wood structures! I visited the second garden community without stopping.
On October 9th, I was in Hangzhou on a small tour. The picturesque West Lake is enchanting. When I lingered in it, I was even more deeply aware of Su Shi's description of the human wonderland of "wanting to make the West Lake more beautiful than the West Lake, and it is always appropriate to wear thick makeup and light makeup".
It is worthy of the reputation of heaven on the top and Suzhou and Hangzhou on the bottom. The architecture of the two cities, each with its own charm, really benefited me as an inspector.
On October 10, I returned to Shanghai. Walk on the Taicang Road Pedestrian Street on the south side of Huaihai Middle Road. This is the location of Shanghai Xintiandi, the most historical and cultural attraction in Shanghai. It combines the traditional Shikumen architectural art in Shanghai with the characteristics of modern new architecture, and the tone of the combination of Chinese and Western styles makes the whole style have a different meaning.
On October 12, I rushed to Beijing. On the ride of the rickshaw, walking the streets and alleys through the big and small hutongs of Beijing, following the life atmosphere of old Beijing, feeling the architecture like the city's annual rings, this is the mark of history and the mark of culture.
When I returned to the hotel in the evening, I began to wonder what one of my new Australian dreams would be like – what would the Chinese garden in Australia look like?
The establishment of the Chinese Garden in Australia is a grand idea, and its completion will become the first Garden City with Chinese characteristics in the history of Australian architecture.
These days, I frequently travel between China and Australia to investigate the architectural characteristics of the Suzhou and Hangzhou gardens, feel the architectural art of the Shanghai Grotto Gate, and experience the architectural culture of the Beijing Courtyard. These works are the soul of our Chinese architectural history and the manifestation of China's long cultural connotations. I hope to pass on the essence of Chinese culture in a foreign country, and China's characteristic architecture can shine in the history of foreign architecture.
Chinese design is unique, Chinese architecture is classical and elegant, and Chinese culture is profound. The Chinese Garden brings Chinese design, Chinese architecture and Chinese culture to Australia.
The architectural styles of China and Australia have their own advantages and can be combined with each other to form a new style. Designers in China and Australia can learn from each other and learn from each other. "Building a Chinese Garden" is a project for the dissemination of Chinese culture, and any interested Chinese real estate developer or designer can participate.
During the visit, many domestic real estate entrepreneurs talked and discussed with me, hoping to participate in the Project of China Garden. Mr. Xu, a friend, has pre-booked to contract 100 mu-200 mu of land to move the Suzhou garden to the australian land.
On October 28, the day of my birthday, I returned to Australia after my domestic expedition. On November 6, the China Garden Project officially established a research team to conduct the preliminary feasibility report and the analysis of the plot investigation. The membership includes first-class Australian designers, first-class planners, first-class architects, postgraduate students in the Department of Architecture at the University of Melbourne, a first-class university, and professionals in the company's real estate department.
The idea of building a "Chinese garden" in Australia has also received strong support and attention from the China Architectural Design Institute and the Construction Bureau of the Victorian Government in Australia. In the near future, in the beautiful Victorian capital city of Melbourne, there will be a garden community covering an area of 1,000 acres, which is called "Chinatown Garden".
In early 2006, I bought a 40,000-square-meter plot of land and planned to build 60 houses. In July 2006, the Shanghai office of ABC was restored. In terms of economic and cultural exchanges between Australia and China, especially in the exchange and cooperation between the two places in real estate and urban planning and construction, the Shanghai Office will play a role as a bridge and make full preparations for the Garden of Chinatown. Chinese designers and Australian designers can cooperate in many ways.
In 2007, the second 200, the third 200, the first 500 in 2008, the second 500. From 2009 to 2010, the first Chinese garden house community of 1,000 buildings was born. One neighborhood after another will appear endlessly on Melbourne's geographical coordinates.
In Australia, in Melbourne, every Chinese I met had their own Australian dream. When I returned to Melbourne from Shanghai, Jack picked me up at the airport. He kept asking me, we have been in Australia for as long as you, but we are still working, why did you succeed in Jin Kaiping?
I think the key to success is to have a firm belief. Although beliefs themselves are not valuable, once you stick to them, the beliefs will continue to appreciate. In addition, it is to invest more time and effort.
To become a billionaire, first cultivate your own brain so that your brain becomes the brain of a billionaire. Intelligence is the key to getting rich in modern society, and it is impossible to get rich just by selling out physical strength. If the god of fate closes the door in one place, she will open another window in another place. Therefore, when encountering temporary setbacks and difficulties, or even failures, do not be discouraged.
After the difficulties, there will be a smooth future, one thing will not succeed, and the other thing is likely to succeed. I dream that in the next 50 years, in the developed countries of the world, the wealth of our Chinese will surpass that of the Jews. Jack shook his head when he heard that, saying he couldn't do it. Then he said he didn't want to be a billionaire either.
I said that everyone has their own way, as long as they live happily. You were very happy when you were working in a "state-owned enterprise", and now you are happy to switch to driving a taxi; but I can only command thousands of troops and horses like I am now...
When we first came to Australia more than a decade ago, people called us Chinese students; later, we slowly got permanent residency in Australia in various ways, and people began to call us new immigrants; once upon a time, we were called overseas Chinese. The original Chinese students, now the new immigrants are on the rise.
I remember once, a few friends in Melbourne discussed together for half a day, and finally reached such a judgment: more than 100,000 people who arrived in Australia in the early 1980s and 90s, most of them entered the ranks of Australia's middle class, at least one house, a car, living a worry-free life, and many people invested in several houses. In Australia, there are about 400 people with assets of more than 10 million Australian dollars, and 4,000 people with assets of more than 2 million.
This is a group that cannot be ignored. It's a group that amazes Australians. In today's Australia, there is another group that cannot be underestimated, which is pursuing their Australian dreams.
A group of students in Australia set up a youth organization, the "Australian Dream" Youth Club. I am also honoured to be hired as a "guest consultant" and young people hope that I, the senior (international student) and author of "The Australian Dream", will give some advice on starting a life in Australia.
The "Australian Dream" Youth Club is mainly to assist Chinese students to solve problems in academics, life and employment, obtain successful ideas and put into action, and become a platform for dreamers to communicate, help each other and a gas station for strugglers in foreign countries. The "Australian Dream" youth club will also set up an emergency assistance center for Chinese students to contribute money when Chinese students have emergency difficulties.
Young people with dreams talked to me about life. I want to start my own business, or be the CEO of a large company... I want to find a good job, find a good husband... I want to finish reading the book and go back to China to develop... I want to invest in property and become a "landlord" in Australia...
This group of young people who have crossed the ocean, young and energetic, full of dreams, study, live, work, start a business in a foreign country, and work hard for their own different lives.
As an "old" international student, in them, I can see the shadow of our generation when they first embarked on a foreign journey. Today's new generation of international students, whether in terms of knowledge, family background, and insight, may be better than our original. At that time, there may have been more opportunities to be "small bosses", and many old immigrants were running a small convenience store or small factory as a family, living a comfortable middle-class life.
I send my best wishes to this group of young people who are beautiful and young. As I said when the "Australian Dream" youth club was founded: I hope that among our young people, there will be great politicians, great scientists and great entrepreneurs. Nowadays, in Australia, there are already Chinese parliamentarians and Chinese mayors, but compared with the number of Chinese in Australia, the proportion is still very small, and I hope that a new generation of Chinese students and immigrants can produce talents. Our generation also set foot on this land with dreams, and today, a new generation of international students also stands here with new dreams, hoping that new international students can surpass the achievements of our generation.
The Australian dream is not only my personal dream, but also the dream of our generation. There is not only the Australian dream, but also the dream of many people's motherland, the American dream, and the European dream! The Chinese are going to the world, Chinese culture is going to the world, and those of us who are overseas wanderers will spread the cultural inheritance of the motherland around the world!
I made a promise: I and my Australian Central Group will be the strong backing of the "Australian Dream" youth club, whether financially or humanly, I will provide as much help and support as possible.
Subsequently, the "China Entrepreneur Club" composed of entrepreneurs from all over the world also kicked off in Melbourne.
Chinese entrepreneurs investing in foreign countries are often prone to misunderstandings because of language, culture, laws and regulations. Australia's economic system, business habits, cultural background, social regulations, etc. are very different from the investment concepts and methods formed by entrepreneurs in China. Therefore, entrepreneurs who used to be in the Chinese business community and call the wind and rain will feel bound by the differences in these aspects of development in foreign countries. And this club can just help them get information, get guidance, can more fully understand Australia, understand Australia's business rules, help them start a second business, successful entrepreneurship.
The China Entrepreneur Club regularly holds discussion and exchange meetings among Chinese entrepreneurs, inviting Australian legal, financial and other professional consultants to conduct professional training and guidance for members such as industry regulations, finance and taxation. Communicate with Australian government departments and Australian entrepreneurs, expand business opportunities and a series of services.
In the past two years, I have been invited to attend more than a dozen large and small "Australian Real Estate Investment Exchange Meetings". It also reached hundreds of investors from all over the Chinese mainland.
Miss Fu, who studied in Japan in the early years and invested in real estate in Shanghai, is ready to emulate "LINDA's female secretary to real estate tycoon" and test the bull knife in the Australian real estate industry and invest in two villas.
There is a primary school student Xu Bin, through the "Australian Dream" (the first edition), through the blog to meet me. At a young age, he persuaded his parents to buy two houses and enter the Australian real estate industry. It's really a good idea to read and invest.
In Australia, all walks of life, real estate, mineral resources development, trade, IT, law, medicine, etc., the Chinese often invest millions, more than tens of millions, hundreds of millions, creating miracles in the Australian business community. The chinese are no less courageous than the Jews, who have always been known for their "shrewdness."
The new generation of Chinese people have absorbed the strengths of various localities in their concepts and have been baptized by all parties. Combining the characteristic culture of all over the world, we are looking for our dreams in Australia.
In 2006, I was again appointed by the Victorian Government as an Advisor to the Minority Business Advisory Board. This is my third re-election.
The purpose of this advisory board is to make full use of the resources of the state's national business elite, strengthen Victoria's economic ties with overseas countries and bring in overseas investment. In Australia, with the exception of the British, they are considered "minorities". That is to say, the background of the advisers on our advisory board includes almost all the major countries in the world, almost a small "United Nations", such as China, India, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore in Asia; France, Italy, Greece in Europe; and South Africa in Africa.
I look forward to working with them in Australia and achieving another great result!" I believe that the achievements of the Chinese in Australia will surpass the Jews! I was facing the sea. It seems that such a scene also appeared in front of my eyes...
One evening 20 years later, Mr Wang from Eastern China and I came to the roof of a 66-storey building that had just been bought for $2 billion in the heart of Melbourne. We're all excited – like this "landmark", in Melbourne, in Sydney, all over Australia, in the past it was mostly owned by Jews, and then for a few years, it was owned by the Japanese... Finally, new immigrants from Chinese mainland and real estate investors from Chinese mainland also own a "landmark building"!
Behind us, there are several real estate investors from Chinese mainland. They were also excited. They're pointing, I'm pointing, and we're planning the next plan, ready to spend $20 billion on 30-50 Commercial Buildings in Melbourne, $20 billion on a large cluster of garden houses on Melbourne's southeast coast, and if possible, a seaside Chinatown.
The 66-storey building at our feet is one of the five tallest buildings in melbourne's city centre. As a result, we have the feeling of standing out from the crowd. How many high-rise buildings are there in melbourne city centre? Five hundred? A thousand? At the moment, they are all stepping on our feet.
Looking around, a series of buildings of different shapes are clustered around, high and low, far and near, light and dark, and it is good to look at. It was at the junction of day and night that the black sky was dark blue and more unfathomable; most of the stars had not yet come out, and a few of the early stars were lifelessly shadowed by the dazzling lights on the ground.
Mr. Kim, how about we buy that one in our next acquisition plan? Mr. Wang asked, pointing to a tall building in the distance.
A few of us looked along Mr. Wang's fingers— the second tallest building in Melbourne, 88 storeys, just two years after its completion, and she was like a huge pennant flag on the banks of the Yarra River.
How tall is she? A mainland investor asked. 88 floors. I say. What a number! What are you hesitating about? buy! Several people said so.
I didn't answer immediately, looked at the distant buildings where almost every window was lit, crystal-like, and thought, this will take at least another 10 billion, I may still be short of 15 billion, as if to say to myself, what about 15 billion...
And us! Several mainland investors behind Mr. Wang said almost in unison. I looked at these mainland real estate investors who had just arrived yesterday, turned my head again, looked at the "triangle flag" in the distance, and said, as if to myself, it seems that Melbourne's "landmarks" will soon be classified under the name of Chinese...
