In August, after the verdict in the intentional homicide case of Wang Moumiao and Liu Moufeng was announced, the parents of the victims, who had not yet completely recovered from the pain of losing their son, specially went to the procuratorate of the Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province and sent the procurator a pennant with the words "Law enforcement is like a mountain and has a clear understanding."
On September 12, the reporter interviewed the prosecutor in charge of the case and learned that the successful pursuit of the real culprit behind the scenes in this case stemmed from a sentence that the victim's mother inadvertently said to the prosecutor.

The killer was arrested and pleaded guilty
On September 16, 2022, Luo Mouhai and Yang Moufen, who were working in Zhejiang, received a call from the public security organ saying that their son Luo Mouwan had been killed in the courtyard of his hometown in rural Huangping County, Guizhou Province.
The couple, who were over half a hundred years old, rushed back to their hometown, and the people warned them that the police had arrested the murderer Liu Moufeng on the day of the crime.
"Why did you kill Luo Mouwan?"
"Wang Moumiao and I have studied and grown up together since childhood, and I love Wang Moumiao very much, but after Wang Moumiao and Luo Mouwan were together, Luo Mouwan not only did not cherish her, but also subjected her to domestic violence. I hate him, he must die. ”
In the interrogation room, the public security organs interrogated Liu Moufeng extremely difficult. Because Liu is a hard of hearing, the police need to interrogate him with the help of a sign language interpreter.
According to Liu Moufeng's account, he and Wang Moumiao are both from Zhejiang, and the two were originally lovers. Later, Luo Mouwan went to Zhejiang to work and met Wang Moumiao, and they gradually developed into a couple, and at the end of 2021, Wang Moumiao and Luo Mouwan returned to Huangping's hometown to live. In the first half of 2022, Wang Moumiao returned to Zhejiang alone after becoming pregnant, and he learned from his daily relationship with Wang Moumiao that Luo Mouwan had no job, was not enterprising, and was irresponsible, and planned to murder Luo Mouwan out of anger. On September 12, 2022, Liu Moufeng rushed from Zhejiang to Huangping, and on September 16, he killed Luo Mouwan with a knife he purchased in advance and fled the scene.
The public security organs found the supermarket where Liu Moufeng bought the knives and the hotel where he stayed in Huangping, investigated and verified, and went to Zhejiang to collect evidence from Wang Moumiao and verify the relevant facts of the case. According to Wang Moumiao, she did not know that Liu Moufeng went to Guizhou to kill Luo Mouwan, and she had bought a train ticket on the day of the crime and prepared to return to Luo Mouwan's hometown.
Liu Moufeng confessed to murder for love, and the physical evidence found at the scene can be mutually corroborated, and the case seems to have become clear. In November 2022, the public security organs transferred the case to the procuratorate for review and prosecution after the investigation was completed.
Prosecutors found the case suspicious
In December 2022, the Qiandongnan Prefecture Procuratorate accepted the case. The procurator in charge reviewed all the case files and found that there were doubts in the case: Liu Moufeng confessed that he had been to the vicinity of Luo Mouwan's hometown with Wang Moumiao, so he came to the vicinity of Luo Mouwan's home from memory, although Wang Moumiao's testimony also confirmed this, but Liu Moufeng's willingness to go to the "love enemy" home is still doubtful; Luo Mouwan in the process of resistance, caused Liu Moufeng left arm bleeding, according to the scene of blood stain analysis, Liu Moufeng had returned to the crime scene after fleeing from murder, when the public security organ interrogated, Liu Moufeng's answer was to go back to find his mobile phone. Is finding your phone more important than running away?
With these questions, the prosecutor interrogated the criminal suspect Liu Moufeng and listened to the opinions of Luo Mouhai and Yang Moufen, the parents of the victim Luo Mouwan.
After talking with Luo Mouhai and Yang Moufen, the prosecutor believed that there was a possibility that others were involved in the case. According to Yang Moufen, on the day of the case, Wang Moumiao told her in WeChat that Luo Mouwan may have had an accident, and the anxious Yang Moufen immediately asked what happened, but did not wait for Wang Moumiao's reply, and later received a call from the public security organ informing her that her son had been killed.
The prosecutor immediately verified with the investigators whether he first informed Wang Moumiao of Luo Mouwan's murder, and got a negative answer. The public security organ's interrogation record of Wang Moumiao shows that she was far away in Zhejiang that day, so how did she know that Luo Mouwan had an accident in the first place?
Luo Mouhai also used his mobile phone to play back the surveillance video at home on the day of the crime, and the prosecutor found that Liu Moufeng avoided the camera after entering the hospital, and also knew that the toilet had a place to charge. He had never entered Luo Mouwan's house, why was he so familiar with these situations?
The prosecutor extracted the WeChat chat records of Yang Moufen and Wang Moumiao, the surveillance video in Luo Mouhai's mobile phone, marked the suspicious points, and comprehensively analyzed that the testimony of Wang Moumiao, a key person in the case, was untrue, and there was still a possibility that others helped, knew, or even premeditated and instigated the case.
In order to find out whether others were involved in the case, the procurator drew up a supplementary investigation outline for the return, and in light of the special circumstances such as Liu Moufeng being a hearing-impaired person who mainly relied on mobile phone typing for external communications, requested the public security organs to conduct electronic data testing on Liu Moufeng and Luo Mouwan's mobile phones. Through careful review, the public security organs discovered clues that Wang Moumiao premeditated, instigated, and helped Liu Moufeng to kill.
The mastermind pleaded guilty
In February this year, the Qiandongnan Prefecture Procuratorate issued a letter of opinion that criminal suspects should be arrested, and decided to pursue Wang Moumiao. In March, Wang was arrested in Zhejiang.
In the face of interrogation by the police, Wang did not confess truthfully at first, and when the police showed her the WeChat chat record with Liu, she quickly confessed her crime.
Wang Moumiao and Liu Moufeng were lovers, but she always wanted to find a boyfriend without disabilities, and after meeting Luo Mouwan, the two quickly determined their boyfriend and girlfriend relationship, and returned to Luo Mouwan's hometown in Guizhou at the end of 2021 to live together. In February 2022, Wang Moumiao thought that Luo Mouwan was not good for him, so he returned to Zhejiang and lived with Liu Moufeng. During this time, she and Luo Mouwan quarreled over the separation and union, and finally Wang Moumiao had the idea of murdering Luo Mouwan, and threatened Liu Moufeng with suicide to commit murder, and made a killing plan together.
On September 12, 2022, with the help of Wang Moumiao, Liu Moufeng found Luo Mouwan's hometown according to the plan. After 3 days of stepping on the spot, Liu Moufeng was always afraid that he couldn't get off. During this period, Wang Moumiao told Liu Moufeng in WeChat how to avoid the camera and how to lure Luo Mouwan out, but Liu Moufeng never dared to start. On the evening of September 15, Liu Moufeng contacted Wang Moumiao through WeChat, hoping that she could stop acting, and Wang Moumiao called Liu Moufeng waste in WeChat and encouraged him to continue. In order to let Liu Moufeng smoothly implement the killing plan, Wang Moumiao also specially purchased a high-speed rail ticket to Guizhou Kaili on September 16, and then WeChat told Luo Mouwan to let him pick her up at the high-speed rail station. Subsequently, she told Liu Moufeng to take advantage of Luo Mouwan's opportunity to pick her up at the high-speed rail station to carry out a murder plan. On September 16, when Luo Mouwan was about to go out to pick up Wang Moumiao, Liu Moufeng rushed to the courtyard dam with a knife and stabbed Luo Mouwan several times, causing him to die on the spot.
What is the reason why Wang Moumiao wants to kill Luo Mouwan? In order to find out Wang Moumiao's motive, the procuratorate guided the investigation agency to extract Wang Moumiao's mobile phone electronic data, retrieve the testimony of Wang Moumiao's girlfriend, and verify the Alipay transfer records of Wang Moumiao and Luo Mouwan, and finally confirmed that the two did have a relationship dispute, but it was only some trivial matters in life.
On May 17 this year, the Qiandongnan Prefecture Procuratorate filed a public indictment with the court on suspicion of intentional homicide by Wang Moumiao and Liu Moufeng, and simultaneously informed Luo Mouhai and Yang Moufen of the progress of the case of pursuing and prosecuting Wang Moumiao.
On August 11, after a trial, the court sentenced Wang to death for intentional homicide, suspended for two years, and deprived of political rights for life; Liu was sentenced to life imprisonment and deprived of political rights for life. After the first-instance verdict, the two did not appeal.
