On September 23, the Hongmei Street Water Environment Experience Day and Park Water Sports Competition in Xuhui District was held in the waters of Shangaotang, unlocking a new way to play mass sports close to the water.
The experience day was based on paper boat DIY making and kayaking experience projects, allowing surrounding enterprises, white-collar workers and residents to have an opportunity to have close contact with the natural environment. Hongmei Street has "tailored" a complete set of treatment plans for the river, and since 2019, it has carried out a census of direct sewage discharge throughout the area, fully covering and promoting the comprehensive rectification of mixed rainwater and sewage in residential areas, enterprises and institutions, and merchants along the street, carrying out ecological dredging projects, and blocking the direct discharge of sewage from the source, effectively alleviating the phenomenon of simultaneous sewage discharge and treatment.
