Once, when Granny Cai was collecting a debt from Doctor Sailu, she almost killed him. Fortunately, Zhang Donkey and his father show up and break the agreement. So Zhang Donkey moved to Cai's house with the saving grace of Granny Cai. He took a fancy to the young and beautiful Dou E and wanted her to marry him. Dou E didn't want to do this, so Zhang Donkey bought arsenic, intending to poison Granny Cai. Who would have thought that he would accidentally poison his own father?
As a result, Zhang Donkey became angry and framed Dou'e for poisoning her father. He also conspired with the county order to force Dou'e to confess. But no matter how they tortured Dou E, Dou E never confessed. Subsequently, the magistrate threatened to torture Granny Cai. Dou E could not bear to let her elderly mother-in-law suffer, so she had to confess, and Dou E was sentenced to death.

Later, Dou'e's father passed the imperial examination, and Dou'e, who had been wronged, was also able to rehabilitate her. After defending his daughter, Dou Tianzhang said: "You know that Dou E has been wronged, but you dare not tell the truth, this is called injustice. Some people even believe in corrupt officials, thinking that Dou E really killed people, and slandering Zhongliang is called unkind. God has an eye, there are no unreasonable disasters. Natural and man-made disasters are only to punish unjust people!
Guan Hanqing used Dou Tianzhang's words to determine the cause of natural disasters. There are no disasters for no reason. These natural and man-made disasters are used to punish these callous and unjust people! So it's not Dou'e who is mean, but God has eyes ...
