In a jaw-dropping revelation, Vietnamese police recently succeeded in dismantling a prostitution syndicate that was led by a former flight attendant. What is even more strange is that all of her subordinates are former flight attendants or models.
According to the police, the suspect targeted high-end customers, not only personally involved in prostitution, but also used high intermediary fees to expand the territory for his sex workers, attracting huge returns, which have accumulated more than 1 billion VND so far.
Vo Thi My Hanh, a 26-year-old former flight attendant involved, quit her long-time career in aviation months ago to step into the unfathomable industry. She has gone to great lengths to showcase photos of luxury purchases and travel around the world on social media, trying to establish herself as a role model for young women who want to "lie down and make a profit", and now has 300,000 followers.
According to the survey, Vo Thi My Hanh's prostitutes cost up to $1,000 per service, and $3,000 for overnights. She herself can draw more than 295 US dollars of intermediary fees each time, which has accumulated 1 billion VND, equivalent to 300,000 yuan.
Even more bizarre, Vo Thi My Hanh focuses on attracting high-end clients, and the prostitutes she works for are all from the aviation industry or the modeling industry, and are extremely high-quality, so they are relatively expensive. It is understood that she has at least 30 sex workers under her command. Most of the customers are from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam, and Vo Thi My Hanh is contacted via social media to arrange a meeting with the prostitutes, usually in high-end restaurants or resorts. She can even provide a fancy car that connects the woman to the sex trading venue.
After the police raided a popular hotel in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of the 9th and arrested four women who provided sexual services on the spot, the case finally came to light. The four women, three who had worked for an airline and one who was a model, all confessed to Vo Thi My Hanh's crimes, and the police arrested them on the 10th.
In response to this case, we must first make it clear that such illegal acts not only violate social morality, but also violate laws and regulations. Both prostitutes and clients must be punished by law.
In this case, the former flight attendant and the prostitution syndicate she ran provided services at high prices and specifically targeted high-end customers, which not only violated the dignity and rights of women, but also undermined social order and morality.
Decisive action by the police was necessary, and their efforts to combat prostitution and protect the public from such criminal activities were commendable. Those who engage in such illegal activities should be held accountable in accordance with the law and measures should be taken to strengthen the protection of sex workers and help them leave prostitution and reintegrate into society.
At the same time, all sectors of society should also work together to strengthen social moral education and promote the values of gender equality and respect for individual rights and interests, so as to better prevent and curb the occurrence of similar incidents. Only through severe punishment by the law and the joint efforts of the whole society can we build a more just, healthy and harmonious society. It is also our shared responsibility and our commitment to the future.
